Maybe I've just had a bad day?

Maybe I'm just suffering due to winter blues!?

But I'm considering selling on my LE project.

It's taking too long, I'm struggling to find the time to get stuck into it, I've so much stuff for it too.

As I can't use my garage at the moment, I have to work on it outside, not really a good thing in this awful weather. I have looked at putting it into a specialist to get the big jobs done but I really need to swap the turbo out before I will risk taking it out again, it's smoking.

Anyway.....

How much could I expect to fetch for it do you think, bare in mind the answers could influence what I do with it as I don't really want to let it go and I'm NOT going to break it, or sell it to anyone that will.

1998 20VT LE (No.36) In solid black.
Sunroof
Aircon (Needs Re-Charge)
VERY good interior, little wear, carpets are mint too. Original mats in good condition.
Supersprint Exhaust (centre pipe brand new, tail pipe 2 years old)
FK Silverline Coilovers on the front (with harder springs if required) with brand new Bravo Top mounts and drop links.
Walbro Pump
LE Starter Mod done
Everything works (Wndows, Central Locking etc)
Good oil pressure and oil recently changed again (Mobil 1)
TurboRevs HID kit
Boost gauge
DBA Wiper Slots (Yellow Pagid Pads)
Plus carpet inserts (console to bulkhead)
K&N Insert
Perrin EBV
Sony Bluetooth Hands Free Kit (Matches the dash illumination!)
Drives well, used daily until the snow came, not run since as SORN.
Recent replacement Rad, hose of death and Turbo water pipe.
Showing 89k, no history but I have little doubt this is accurate as the engine seems good and the interior really reflects such.
9 months MOT (flew through, failed only on a bulb!)

Bad bits!

Needs passenger door (Could be filled I guess but why cheat)
Needs new bonnet
Assorted dinks
Turbo smoking
Needs belts

However!

I have a garage FULL of stuff for this car as follows.............

New Brembo brake seals - Don't need doing, brakes are A1
Nigels Lower Brace
Superspool Turbo (I'm told it's A1)
Replacement bonnet (Speed red but spotless, no rust at all anywhere)
Whiteline Rear ARB
Eibach springs
Front Hub
Plus Grille
Passenger door glass (correct tint)
2 as new wishbones (fitted to my old coop for 4-500 miles max.

Loads more stuff I imagine and I'll add as I remember.

Looking for a rough idea, sold as a job lot, or car only (the spares will be good for the next coop!)

See the project section for a rough idea of the story so far.

As above, I'm not really wanting to sell, but it seems unfair this car sat outside waiting for me to find the time to get her to the high standard I expect. If little or no interest, I'll plough on with her, she is a superb looking car, bumps and all. It's just too much for me at this moment, but I've no problems keeping her under a weather cover for the time being.

Opinions welcome!

If I decide not to sell, she'll be going into one of the specialists in a month or so, NEVER to appear on here for sale again! tongue

Gareth

If you dont need the money released from the project then just keep it. Black LE's are rare - you'll never get another one.

Tough up man and get out there and get it done!

Just to add!

No, I don't need the money, it's not the coop thats caused this train of thought at all. My totally dependable Landy and only other mode of transport let me down today and it got me thinking how exposed I am with an Italian sports car and an old V8 Landy! I'm a self employed aircraft engineer, a day without transport potentially means a day without pay, not good!

Was looking at selling both to buy something more dependable and modern, god only knows what though.

I would replace the coop though if I did sell up, but I'd spend a fair wack and get something fully sorted.

I've just been out to it to lock it up, damn it looks good (especially in the dark!) This could be locked quite soon!

Gareth your car looks superb, dents an all with the interior especially mint so don't sell up! It could potentially be one of the nicest coupes period if you persevere and finish it. As you've mentioned, it's a project so you can't quit now.

Thanks Jay, the potential is there as your saw, but it's time, just time, it feels like I'll never get it the way I want it, or even close. My plan was to have it 80% complete by March, there is no chance of that as it stands.

Time will tell (there's that word again!)

I'm fighting the demons! I'm leaning towards side lining it until the weather picks up. I've just bought my sensible car to replace the landy so I think I'll get the landy sold and review again in fairer weather.

Still open to offers mind you but only as a job lot.

Once I have my drive space back i'll start work on her again.

I saw some sunshine today and remember how much fun the coupe is in the summer! We do have short spurts of summer mind but do think its some winter blues.

I have the coupe so i can escape from the sensible car.
