as above, it's the bonnet edge that has broken the light. looks to have been hit from a front corner sideward angle as the bumper is flexed along the crease that tucks under the bonnet.

ps, I would be in tears and furious.

A lot of 4x4's where i live. It looks to have gone into the edge of the bonnet then pushing bonnet back. Creased just above front wheel arch out the way.
Coppers seem to agree treating it as failing to stop, but dont fancy the chances of anyone being caught.

i was considdering a 4 camera video survelance device for the car which works on movement and even records in the dark onto an sd card with time and date...

At £250 quid, had i done it a year and a half ago it would have paid for itself in having the culprit cough up for the damage rather than myself...
seems its one of those good ideas you never get around to doing ...

I suffered the same fate with my car yesterday evening! Only difference was I decided not to take the Coupé and use the shopping car, the Seicento. Came back to the carpark to find a nice large dent in the rear quarter. No note, nothing - it would have been clear that the person had hit the car.

Was happy and angry at the same time if that makes sense. If it had bee the Coupé i'd have gone ballistic, thankfully a last minute decision meant that the poor Seicento took the impact.

Could it have been cracked by stone and then just shattered on its own ?

yup whoever did that knows they did it and needs a serious piece of karma to set things right..
