All, I am new to Fiat Coupes and would appreciate some advise on this one I have seen in Bedford. http://www.virtual-showroom.co.uk/script...S/BASICGREY.CSSIt has FSH although they have confirmed that the cambelt has not been done. They can get it done but will probably add some of the cost onto the price. I believe the price is a bit high - any opinions? Also I am slightly concerned about the above average miles (79K). What are these engines like with 100K miles on them? Thank you in advance for any feedback. Simon

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum If the cambelt hasn't been done then it doesn't have FSH as it would have been due in September last year. At 12k a year (average mileage) then 79k is right for a 6.5 year old car so nothing wrong there. Price seems OK but they are misadvertising it with FSH so get them to knock £500 off and get the cambelt done yourself.

Scooby,
Thanks for the advise.
Just checked ad again and while they told me it was FSH, the ad does say "Main dealer history, Previous M O Ts".

Well, if it's all main dealer then the cambelt should still have been done. Worth investigating further, perhaps contacting said main dealer and seeing if they have a record of the belts being done? If you want a second look at it, I *might* be able to nip off my train on the way home one afternoon/evening, depends on how far it is from Bedford station.

Hello mate
Ive been looking for coupes in my area (watford) for a good few months and this coupe has been on sale since then. This might help with price as he should want to get rid of it asap.

Looks a bit like the one I test drove in Bedford last September. (Private sale at the time)
Lovely car and nice owners, and a very well loved car (Garaged from new), but a little overpriced I felt. Think I offered them £4500 at the time and they laughed at me, trying to sell it at £5800. It was on 79,000 but I thought it had just had the cambelt done recently. Not sure if it's the same car or not.
If it's the same car, I bet they wished they hadn't laughed at my offer now!
I.

Test drove it yesterday. Lovely car. Very good quality interior apart from wear to the drivers seat. Drove lovely and body work in excellent condition. I still think it is overpriced, especially as they want a contribution to having the cambelt changed! (all in cost would be @£4700).
However one concern I have are the brakes. There did not appear to be any!!
Is it usual for the standard coupe brakes to be spongy and non-responsive? Any ideas what this could be?
Thanks
Simon
