Can't imagine you sold him a 'nail' Jim? Who owned it after you?

I brought that Coupe into the FCCUK fold, via Jintel at the time, and watched it's careful development whilst he had it (then watched JimO ruin it ). I was also responsible for the plate - suggested it to Jintel who then bought it. It reads J'S COUPE but only at show time, obviously! I'm still in touch with him, he's running around in a CTR these days.

I think I've ruffled a few feathers bringing this car up. Well I have news that its well and awaiting some poor scrappy a car with a nackered engine and gearbox and a lot of the goodies already gone. RIP J500UPE.

Don't even think about it, it was a total nail when I got hold of it trying to save its bacon, it was booked in for a cambelt change and full service after I put a new fuel tank and rear radious arms and so on on it to get it through the mot but the oil pressure was dropping down to 1 bar and the gearbox was crunchy as hell even the heating didnt work. oh and it handled like a bowl of cornflakes, now this must be suprising to the guys who had it in its prime, but someone had seriously neglected it for too long the cambelt hadn't been done for over 5 years and 60k a rush of blood made me buy it. There's nothing left on it I took everything good out of it, turbo, greddy, seats, exhaust, induction kit, lights, all that's left is some ropey bodywork and a engine and gearbox and when I say I mean , it also has no dv, I took the rocker cover off it also. Oh it still has the suspension on it but it handled pants. The car is worth about 50 quid and that is no exaggeration its complete scrap mate the wheels are ok actually and tyres have good tread the breaks arnt perfect the leather buckets are now replaced by cloth, there's no undertray, no oil in it, oh I left the wolbro fuel pump on it so that's worth taking off apart from that to bring it back from the grave you need a whole new engine gearbox and intercooler as I took the fmic off aswell, the plate is good j500upe so infact worth it for that, needs a full respray also and the cambelt changing all things I was going to do. Hope that helps lol _________________________

Jesus! A google search brought up this, and I have to say that car was in the same condition when I sold it as it was when I purchased it from Jim.
I spent quite a few quid on it prior to selling it, and the only reason I sold it was to purchase LE46. That included a new turbo and the cambelt at power fiat. Mileage was circa 63k ish.
Sad to hear that after only a short time after selling it, it was trashed.
I know...holy thread resurrection!!

I do also know that Jintel, the first FCCUK owner, was, and is, borderline OCD about his cars. He spent masses of cash on that one, even if something was only 1-2% below par it would get replaced. Would have been some going by someone to have ruined it.
