I have seen a Fiat coupe 20v turbo on ebay which has got a lpg conversion, the owner says that it requires a new turbo, he has no paper work with the car and does not know if the cambelt has been changed. I just want to know is it worth buying and would that lpg conversion possibly cause any problems. Check the car out the ebay item number is 260480438461.

Looks ok to me, if it goes cheap enough then worth a punt. Someone trusted it enough to spend a shed load on getting it LPG converted so worth a look for sure. As for LPG causing problems, I doubt it, other than an even tighter engine bay.

Have a look, report back, a turbo is an easy enough fix.

Had the guy ring me Monday because he put the lock set in and couldnt get it going. Turned out to be no EFI fuse so he put one in and off it went. He then rang back and said it was smoking and he wanted a turbo. I would say stay away from it, it has no history and seems a dog.

Heres a direct link Ebay Coupe

At 99p it's got to be worth a punt - but the possible risks of needing a new clutch, belts, and turbo? There's a grand before you start. And if the gas installation's not done correctly? Factor another three hundred for tyres...

I've rejected it; it's not worth what it'll cost to get it sorted and I need a runner not a project. But if you're up for a project? Couple of hundred quid maybe?

still a big risk.

Why does it not have service history (either its come from a breakers / not been serviced / someone dog eat it).

It could end up costing you a lot more than £600 especially if the LPG is knackered.

what he said wink

If its just a smokey turbo then get him to put the car back together and go for a test drive. If he declines then run a mile.

You would get some of your money back if you broke it (not very much if the engine is censored though).

Hasn't he got it on an auction with no reserve, so its quite possible he will get less!!

So you set your budget and give it a go if its what you want

a working 20vt in decent condition with lpg would I reckon go for about £2000/2500.

Why would he be prepared to let it go for so little when all it needs is a secondhand turbo for £200 plus another £100 to fit.

Doesn't make sense.

Has anyone looked at the interior pic? Looks like it's been nicked! All the ignition wires look to be hanging out?

No history? Turbo blown?

Run a mile!!

Bought cheap, would never do it again!

makes me laugh the way he says..."so now im giving someone else ago as i have to many cars to finish"....then says, "not looking for a p/x swap or swop as not allowed wink wink try me!"

Why does he want a swap when he just said he is selling it because he has to many cars already?

Walk away and keep walking lol
