Been looking around the various HID fitment threads but can't see a common opinion on where to put the ballasts.

Previously I had them self-tapped into the underside of the headlight itself, which worked fine, but in my quest to keep the car as standard as possible, I'd like to be able to remove the HIDs without trace if I need/want to.

TIA.

Oh, I'd rather not blush

Had them neatly fixed on the underside of the headlights for the last Coupe, but I guess these ballasts are a tad bigger as I had a bit of a job getting them not to foul anything!

I do have both dip and beam sets, so that doesn't help.

Cant you just glue/stick them on rather than using screws? Mine have been stuck on in that position for years now - sticky pads backed up with some tigerseal. Should be easy enough to undo if ever required.

Why not just screw them in..and use sticky tape to cover the holes when removing them laugh

I used window-glue and put them on the left/right side of the headlight on the bonnet. Looks fine to me, cable runs under the hood-heat thing.

Not the best pic but gives you an idea as to where mine are - basically on the underside of the light unit itself angled.
