Righto, I've had a spate of bad luck with the Coupe over the last year or so and I just can't hack it anymore. I've spent so much on it and I can't keep throwing cash at it. I've lost the love so I'm gonna sell it and resign myself to driving a comfortable reliable boring modern car.

I'll be putting it up for sale in the next month or so, after I’ve done a front end respray and fixed other little bits and pieces. However, I have no idea how much to sell it for.

Firstly, the car is in Ireland and it'll be the only LE for sale in the country. To find an identical one in the UK and bring to Ireland will cost €1,000 (Import duty, flight over and ferry back), so I’ll be pricing it €1,000 more than the UK equivalent. Well, maybe, it's so difficult to price over here. Standard 20VTs can go for €4,000+. It's anybody's guess!

Model
Black LE No. 146
92k with Full Service History
Engine replaced in last 2 months by Motormech with a 60k lump.
Engine now approx. 63k miles

Exterior
The car will be sold with a new front end respray (Bonnet and bumper) to remove stone chips etc and new LE Lips.
The sides of the car have no parking dents at all.
Rear of the car has a small 3 inch long slight crease on the lower edge of the bootlid which isn’t very noticeable.
The car has no mentionable scratches on it.
Alloys are not scratched but one wheel has a 2 inch square flake of clear lacquer missing.
The car will be sold with new bonnet struts fitted.

Interior
Standard LE spec.
Drivers seats is holding up well with no sagging in the bolsters.
Other seats in very good condition.
Seats will be Gliptoned next week.
The heater controls and instrument binnacle have Aluminum rings on them.
Kenwood CD Player, 12 months old.

External Mods
Car is lowered approx 30mm on Eibach Springs
Genuine Zender rear spoiler (not to everybody’s taste)
Genuine Zender rear bumper extension (looks well)
Clear Side repeaters (have original amber ones which will be included)
Rear wiper has been removed.
HID conversion on dipped beam
White LED sidelights.
Engine bay has a polished plenum and polished cover over the spark plugs.
Car has a Peco Stainless steel exhaust (Cat back)
Car also has the later Manifold design which doesn't crack as easily (apparently).

Important Mechanicals
In last 3000miles
60k replacement engine by Motormech and full Cambelt Kit fitted (Apr 09)
Rear Shocks (KYB) (May 09)
LE drilled front disks (Fiat OE), Rear Disks (Fiat OE), Mintex Front & Rear Pads, New Handbrake Cables (May 09)
New Gearbox Oil- Millers 75w90 (Apr 09)

In last 14,000 Miles
New Clutch, New Clutch Slave Cyclinder, New Driveshaft Seals, New Lowerarms incl. droplinks and roll bar bushes, New Oil Cooler & Pipes, Pro Alloy Rad, Thermostat (Apr 08 at 76.5k)
4 Toyos T1R’s
New turbo, standard T28 (May 08 at 77k)

Running Details
I service the car every 6,000 miles.
I check the oil every weekend and top up when necessary.
The car runs on Mobil 1 15w50.
The car runs 3 bar cold, 3 bar at 80 degrees over 1,600rpm and runs 2.5 bar idling at 80 degrees. The lowest oil pressure I’ve seen is approx. 2.2ish bar stuck in traffic on a hot day this summer with the engine running about 95+ degrees.
The turbo does not smoke.

Any Other Business
Like a well organized nerd, I have all the service history, invoices, receipts etc in an A4 ringbinder, each with its own plastic sleeve, organized chronologically! I have all the old MOT’s (car is a UK import purchased from a former mechanic at PowerItalia).
The car was NCT’d in May ’09 and the NCT is valid until September 2010.
The car has 9 months tax (worth €460).

So, does anybody have an idea what I should be selling this for? In the UK would £4k be ballpark or way out there?

Thanks smile

sorry to hear your selling daithi. Ive read some of your threads in the past and you really have had an unlucky experience with the coupe. Like you I'm not to sure on price but think your asking around the right mark. Good luck with the sale buddy.

Steve

Thanks Steve.

I guess I have been unlucky. The Coolant Hose Of Death also split at 1.20am on Sunday morning (in the rain) about 1/2 mile from home.

No damage done though. Thankfully my Barnacle Widget was switched on and I noticed the temp rising thumb

Cheers Sam,

You've had your fair share of pain with your Coupe too! It's all fun fun fun, except for the drained bank account wink

As for an exciting replacement.... uh.....uh.... maybe a 2007 Ford Focus 1.6 hatchback? blush

I'd say there's a very small market for them here at the moment sadly, but I'd say €7k would be an (optimistic) starting point.

I know of a 1998 20vt that changed hands for over 4k recently enough, and it was not in the condition yours is.
