New to the forum! I currently drive a Fiat Barchetta (grp 16) and 156 SW (grp 14). I am looking to buy a nice Coupe, but before all the fun stuff I need to get some insurance quotes.

2 accidents in the last 5 years
1 conviction 5 points

The best I have got so far is from Bell for £1400, Admiral quoted me £1700 and I have submitted a quote for Greenlight.

Who else should I try?

could try adrian flux? or swinton they are also good for insuring all of your mods.

They're actually pretty good quotes so far, considering your age and your driving history.

greenlight will not quote you if you are under 25.

Also try Adrian Flux and Noel Dazeley.

am with adrian flux am twenty with a LE £600 third party for me but got a clean sheet so maybe a bit more for you

how on earth have u got modified car insurance at £600 at 20 years old, even third party?

Thats what i was thinking i am 24 with 4 yrs no claim and i am paying 840 third party and thats with all mods declared on a 16vt

my car is on my private car park cat 1 alarm limited milage willin to pay a high excess if i have an accident ,3 years no claims and tellin them am on this wonderful forum all helps

Apparently Greenlight can't insure me because I need proof of driving a high performance vehicle for at least a year before getting a coupe. I don't think a 156 and Barchetta are anywhere near high performance.

By the time I buy the coupe I should have 2 years no claims and only 1 accident and 1 conviction in the last 3 years.

Thing is, both accidents I had were slow speed 5mph and although the first one was a non blame, the second there weren't any witnesses so I got the blame and prosecuted.

how old are you if dont mind am twenty with adrian flux first high performance car got no questions like the one you got need proof of driven a performance car

yes give them ago tell them things that will help like car on private car park and that, and if you have a cat 1 alarm on tell them the make and they will ask who fitted it to make sure a pro fitted it

Well, it will be a private car park. I will make sure I get a CAT 1 alarm, thanks for the advice! The car park could even have CCTV!

Thats strange, I'm 14 years older than you @ 34, full no claims since 1995, no points, had 4 cars since 2002 that have been 190BHP+ (3 previous coops & a TVR 350i V8) - that was the 1st question Flux asked me this time around

i'm supprised greenlight told you that, i'm 21 and i'm insured on the Marea 20vT fully comp with them.

when i had a look for coupe insurance the best i could find was about £1250 TPFT, amazingly its cheaper to insure my modified Marea 20VT fully comp.

I thought it was great to see someone putting some effort in for a change.

Usually on Fiat forum it's, "I took the car in to be fixed and blah blah blah....."

I like to fix my own cars, at least you know it had been done correctly!
