I think the key thing here is how many of you would have your coops still on the road if the wealth of knowledge on here was not available?

There would be no discussions of specialists or second hand parts, or advice on technical problems. That alone is worth funding the forum and the club.

great point, and i for one wouldn't have gone near a coupe if i hadn't found out from here about motormech. the technical and styling sections are invaluable (worth paying for on their own) as are the sale/buy sections.

Exactly the point, Austin: without the knowledge collected by the forum, there would be half as many cars on the road. Plus, the presence of the forum means that there's an obvious market for the specialist repairers (how else would you know about them if not for the forum) and for suppliers new and second hand - same argument. Which means that not only do you know how to keep the car moving, you can get the bits to do it, and if you're not mechanically handy, you know where to get it done.

The club funds the forum. I find the forum a useful thing. Therefore I contribute cash as a club member and time and effort as a moderator.

Neil

I think Neil has it in one really as to why most people should be club members.

I joined because of the community and the help I received when asking questions while looking for a car.

I take advantage of the discount where I can but really for £15 it is a steal. I would not of known about places like PowerItalia, Motormech or Alternative Auto's. I make my membership back easily and then some.

Obviously the downside is I now know Bockers frown But rough with the smooth eh? laugh

I would never join the club because I don't like any of you.

Oh........bugger.

Another year of having to drive a dodgy old italian thing, meeting other strange people who drive dodgy old italian things and shivering on a beach.

What's not to like?

smile

I've finally joined last week after viewing the forum for a few years (tho not posting much). Reasons being:

- support the forum, would be utterly stuck without it
- discounts, loads to do on the coop so will benefit at AA
- I always consider a car for sale from a club member is likely to have been looked after (bought 2 Porsche 944s from PCGB members)
- £15!!! BARGAIN! (PCGB £66, Porsche enthusiasts club £35, Alfa Club £35 etc etc)

cool

The club now has over 300 active members and we are continually looking for new ways to improve upon their membership experience, and all for just £15 a year!

It is fantastic to receive such positive feedback from our existing members but I would still really like to hear from people who don’t wish to join. If you don’t want to comment openly then please do feel free to PM me, or any of the club committee, with your thoughts (We are the people with the RED usernames).

Thanks once again

Bob

Didn't join for quite a while due to sheer laziness, but enjoyed the forum, and valued the advice. The suggested insurers saved me an absolute fortune compared to my existing insurer, though I didn't need to be a paid up member for this.

Joined mostly for the further discounts, and to give something back for what I'd gained from the forum.

Financially, it would be crazy not to join. I saved the money in one service at PowerItalia, and enjoyed large savings on top of this with Adrian Flux on insurance.

Keep up the good work folks laugh

Ian.

I delayed renewing membership because I couldn't figure out how to pay!

I've paid now and I'm happy to support the forum. I'll also save a few quid off Alternative Autos!
