im running a standard set up on my 20 vt i.e brembos on front. i have replaced pads and disks, but was having squeeling problem,so i fitted laser cut shims. result stopped noise but im finding that with such a fast car the brakes feel flat and not able to stop it in a hurry. any ideas people

Have a look at the Pagid group buy, a good quality pad will increase the feel straight away, for a standard disk I would suggest the Pagid Blue pad as it works well from cold but has MUCH more feel than standard.

There are also disks available on the group buy if you've got spare cash knocking around, a good disk/pad combo will sort you out completely smile

drilled are for show only - they really don't help performance at all

Drilled discs often crack around the holes, so steer clear if you can

The best setup is generally accepted to be DBA 4000 series and Pagid Yellow, although Pagid Blues are probably just as good for general road use (and a bit cheaper too)

There's a good chance that the DBA 4000 series is not going to be available any more, so I'll be looking for a replacement - will probably be a Brembo rotor

Take a look at the Pagid Group Buy in the Group Buy section for lots of information
