Anyone knows how much they last in street use, doing 90% city with somewhat a fast pace?

I run RS2's - they wear much better than the toyos, and they are a better choice for a street tyre as they have water channels. I've run mine everyday, and never had an issue in the wet.

Not sure on total mileage - but I can give you an estimate by checking when I had them on my car if you like?

Hi suba,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm willing to spend some money on those tires but the guy on the tire shop told me that they only will last 3000 miles!!!

Because I want them for street use (not for track days), I've became a little worried when I heard him, if you know waht I mean... smile

I was considering these for some track wheels I have (not for a coupe). How do they handle track work Suba?

i would go for the r888's or dunlop track tyres as they are the best i have ever used and i found that i could nail nearly all of the power in second gear and put it to the ground in the dry in my 650bhp rwd skyline so if they are for the cayman they would be great.
don't know how long they last as i only borrowed them sorry.

hey mate, I've used Dunlop D01J cut slicks before, not really looking for a cut slick R compound tyre - I want it to have a progressive break away and allow some slip to be honest, not grip like an F1 car! 650bhp - you'd need those tyres otherwise it will wheelspin upto 100mph probably! Mid engine config also gives lots of rear end grip....

oh sorry i didn't really know what you wanted them for. the d01j's are good tyres but i like the r888's better.
i would get some t1r's as i have found them the best road/track comrimise by far followed by the old goodyear f1's.
yeah it was needed indeed. even on dunlops 6000 and 280bhp it would spin in 4th at 100mph let alone road tyres and 650bhp lol it was mental to say the least.
what part of london you from as maybe you could come to a coop meet and take me out in the cayman so i can see how good they really are?

They work pretty well, though I have never used R888's so I dont really have much to compare them with.

The Hancooks are more of a road tyre with a stiff sidewall IMO, though they grip very well when warmed up. if you want a tyre that you can use on road or track then I can recommend them highly - they are also far cheaper than R888's.

really about 3000 miles if on r888's but it depends on type of driving and how the car is setup and alike. hancoock i would say the same as t1r's and i got about 6000-7000 miles to my skyline at the same power level as a stage 1 coop.
my skyline was a toy so it was sideways alot so eats tyres but i guess fwd high power will eat them to.

R888s are too track biased for a car like the coupe IMO. Lots of road noise and useless in wet weather. Though that may not be a problem in Portugal?

Well I've got just over 8,000 miles and two track days out of the RS2's, and they have over 3mm + of tread left on them. My car is also running over 300 bhp...

Work in the City, but don't actually live in London any more, based in Kent now. I may pop along to a coupe meet in future, will take you for a spin if I see you at one.

They are better in the dry than both of those - but you do need to get a bit of heat in them.

Nothing I have ever had has been better than F1's in the wet.

For anyone reading this please note that the RS2's have a stiff sidewall - if you are running 17's or 18's then on hard suspension the ride will be very crashy.
