I've been looking to buy a coupe for ages - or so it seems.

Now this one has turned up locally

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1997-R-Fiat-Coupe-...A1%7C240%3A1318

Any comments or observations you would like to make?
Thanks
DtT

Part service history is a bit of a concern. Have you looked in the for sale section. More chance of a beauty \:# in there

Thanks for your interest. I've been hunting through the for sales for ages, Green 20vt seem to be few and far betweeen.

This one has service history to 63000 miles when the cam belt and water pump was done. Clutch has not been done yet.

I think it is about £1000-1500 over priced in todays market especially considering its sketchy history and its colour.

This garage is just down the road from me. Had a quick scrutinous look at the vehicle as it caught my eye on the forecourt as I drove past a few months ago. I'm perfectly happy with my 20VT Grigio R plater by the way, was just being nosey. I would avoid mate. Tan interior is tatty, various scratches on bodywork including boot, scuffed alloys etc. There are far better examples around for this sort of money by the way, considering sketchy service history and the potential cost of keeping these babies on the road. I speak from bitter experience chum. Look elsewhere for a better example. Been stood on the forecourt for months now. PM me if you need a buddy to look over local examples etc or for direction towards better examples.
Best of luck!

Cam belt is every 6 years or 72k so you should have 2 cambelt changes in service history if it's only had 1 at 63k what year was that done?

For the first change, thereafter the specialists recommend a max of five years, 50k miles.

Thanks for your input.

Was hoping it was immaculate but far from it, Exhaust was rotted, lower bumper melted from exhaust, light scratching side panel drivers side, engine looked disgusting, wouldn't start2 car park dings on the near side, big chips on the bonnet, crease on front bonnet lip. Front bumper scuffed nearside rear wheel scuffed nearside. Apart from that OK \:\(

I do like the green ones though.

Keep looking mate. There are some very overpriced rough ones around.

The green ones are a rare species compared to the other colours, what would your second colour choice be?

I looked at quite a few cars before finding my one, and even mine isn't perfect.

theres a Fiat Coupe Plus Electric Blue on ebay,
2k starting price, 3k buy it now.
car in Derbyshire.

Mileage reported as only 50k ,so car seems too cheap so might be more wrong then hes letting on or a new
engine or something.

Asked him about Cam belt, this was reply -

Hi Mate, cam belt was changed at 42k in 06, The last full service it had at 46818 in jan 07 2 years ago but only 4000 miles ago, before that i have a full service log with recipts and job slips for most so you can see what sort of life its had, also i have the red master key and spare alarm fob. Cheers Richard

Hope useful. I dont know seller and im not responsible
if theres aggro with this motor.

But it does look lovely for the price !
