Well, I’m a bit surprised no one has anything to say on this topic?
I thought it might be a useful one-stop source of info for owners who are thinking of a wheel/tyre size change and were wondering what combinations of wheel rim .v. tyre sizes actually fit.
I got a bit fed up sifting through loads of posts and picking up snippets from here and there, but I suppose I will have to do that.
I will put what I can find on this post to make searching a bit easier in future.
Or maybe I should just ask the following questions as I’m thinking of lowering the ride in the future, and I may have to change one of my alloys because of a crack.
1. On a standard ride height 20vt with 18x7.5J rims, I know a 215/35 will fit, but will the following fit without fouling: 215/40, 215/45, 225/35 225/40?
2. On a lowered ride height 20vt with 18x7.5J rims, what size tyre will fit without fouling?
3. On a standard ride height 20vt with 17” rims (either 7 or 7.5J) , will the following fit without fouling: 215/40, 225/40, 235/40, 215/45, 225/45, 235/45?
4. On a lowered ride height 20vt with 17” rims, (either 7 or 7.5J) will the following fit without fouling: 215/40, 225/40, 235/40, 215/45, 225/45, 235/45?
I know that the speedo read out may not be the same but I can get that re-calibrated if I’m bothered.
Thanks
