Whilst driving home in the rain today, noticing as usual how much more comfortable the ride in the coop is when its wet, I got thinking, are some tyres softer than others, and if so which ones are softer than Toyos? I need some new tyres soon anyhow, and anything that gives any relief from the firm ride would be welcomed.
Funny you should metion this. I got a new set of falken FK-452 fitted friday and they do seem to ride a lot better in the wet than in the dry.
I also found that they ride better in the dry too, than the old set even though I have replaced old Falken fk-452 for new and the pressures are the same.
goodyears are great yokohama but not sure they are the best in the wet. give me a shout if you need the tyres i work @blackcircles.com might be able to do you a deal PM if so
I have just had a set of FK-452's fitted on the front after 3 odd years of F1's. Have to say they are far quieter on the road, feel 'softer' and more comfortable to drive on, possibly even grippier(?). Early days but F1's have let me down over the last 3 years with nail punctures x2 and bulging sidewall issues. The sidewalls are the softest part on the tyre I know that but they are just crap on F1's IMO. Only positive about them is the wet weather performance. I cycle to work now so my mileage and use of Coop is now low.
Got 2 x FK-452's fitted from Black Circles for £122 all in so far so good.
