My missus is expecting our 1st child which is due in November. This means that there is going to be a buggy in the boot (VW MK5 Golf, not a coop) and there isnt going to be enough room for my 12" boxed sub Now, Im not planning of using the sub with the baby in the car but I dont want to have to keep taking the sub out and putting it back in everyday. I NEED bass. My car is the only place I get to listen to my mixes at obseen volumes. I was thinking of getting a bass tube and maybe going 10" or 8" if I get desperate but nobody seems to sell bass tubes nowadays. Im also unsure if a buggy would even fit in with a bass tube? Any ideas?

If you do a search for bass box, you'll get pointed to a few people who have made a "stealth box" for their sub. Belive one of em was called FastEdd, though he isn;t around ehre anymore.
Sits on the left hand side of the boot, you have to mold it into the area behind the carpet out of fibre glass. I had a go at doing one, but 1st time I had ever used FG and I wasn't impressed with my work. I'll be having another go once I get the few electrical probs I'm ahving sorted.

woops, read it completely wrong, damn my impatience. Is there not space to do a similar thing in the back of the golf, maybe then add a switch to the Amp Activation cable from the back of the radio? At least then you could turn the amp on and off yet still have the HU on.

I dont like the idea of the 6x9 speakers but thanks.
The pioneer ultra slim sub seems like a good idea and would be perfect. I wonder if its any good? £180 seems reasonable for an active sub too? I'll look into it. Thanks Nigel

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/6466.htmlthis is what ive got at the minute (except mines the 12"). very loud and bassy when you need it and comes with a controller that you can put anywhere in the car so you can turn the bass right down!! unfortunatly ive not put it in my fiesta yet because im scared it will get nicked, sounded awsome in the coupe though!! If I were you, I would spend the money, get a 10 inch Infinity sub, Hertz EP4 amplifier, and depending what you run up front speaker wise, wire it all up and you will be laughing.
