Just gave ND a call to add a ebc to my car and they will require another £65 to cover me. After already giving them over £1000 i think i will give it a miss.

Anyone else finding similar with ND recently?

I would imagine that a large chunk of that is to cover administration costs - it probably advises you of the cost of changes somewhere in your policy documents.
