This weekend i have fitted the Turborevs FMIC from the group buy (which i think i was the only one to buy). Now i have never fitted a FMIC before and didnt really have a clue what i was doing to be honest, so there was a hell of a lot of trial and error, and bodging! So i now have the kit fitted and it is working a gem, my water temps are down by about 15 degrees c. Also i found the pipe work to be of a very high quality, as were the jubilee type connectors and silicon hose. However, as it was a universal kit i had to fccuk about for what seemed like eons working out a route for the pipe work; The route to the throttle body was fairly straight forward, and involved hacksawing one of the straight stainless steel pipes. down by about 3 inches, and then using what was left to create a 'U' shape with the 2 90 degree bend silicone hoses http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/mnmmoggy/DSC00975.jpg . The next bit of pipe work i found very challenging. The kit included 2 S/S 'U' bends , however these were not tight enough bends to get round the back of the intercooler, so the only option i was left with was to go along the bottom of the rail that the radiator sits on. To do this i had to cut approx 3 inches off each end of the 'U'. I also had ao to cut around 6 inches off a 135 Degree S/S pipe, and butcher the original turbo reducer (by roughly cutting in half. However for all this to work i had to route the pipes between the oil cooler pipes and Towing anchor eye thing-and to do that i had to cut the eye and bend it out(which is something i really didnt want to do but i got desperate. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/mnmmoggy/DSC00976.jpg . I think this is the shortest route for the piping however it has lowered the car by approx 1/2 inch more, and as my car was already lowered i now have a massive 3 1/2 inch ground clearance, which is pretty crap! To mount the intercooler to the front of the car i used cable ties and some brackets which i fabricated (whacked with a hammer). In order to fit the bumper back on i had to cut a lot of the lower bumper back. Also the black bit under the grill had to be butchered. Any way its all on now and im pretty chuffed with it. My only quarm is how low its made the car. More pics; http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/mnmmoggy/DSC00974.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/mnmmoggy/DSC00977.jpghttp://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/mnmmoggy/DSC00979.jpg http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/mnmmoggy/DSC00978.jpgPlease if anyone has any constructive critism id love to hear it. Opinions welcome!

Now give it a wash! Stay away from kerbs and you'll be fine I can only just clear a normal height kerb with my LE kit and that's exactly 5" clearance.

do you mean your intake temps are down 15 degrees? if anything your water temps will rise because of the restriction to the radiator! you should be ok with the low clearance, most people have to cut the undertray to allow for the piping! looks good!

I mean when moving-say on a motorway, with a good supply of air, it has generally lowered the running temps, which is exactly what i was after. I have also fitted an intercooler spray kit! not sure if it does much really but its pretty cool. Thanks for comments guys

Did you take the undertray off and leave it off? That would cause lower running temps, but sticking a big obstruction in front of the radiator isnt going to make it any cooler

Since when did a FMIC kit for a Fiat Coupe in volve butchering up the car, having to chop up the alloy piping and the use of loads of cable ties aswell?
I told you all ages ago that this kit was a cheap universil kit,and Turborevs should be lifted out of it for claiming that this is a straight fit to a Fiat Coupe turbo.
False advertising and only after a fast buck.

I had to chop some of the pro alloy pipes because they were a bit too long, and that's designed specifically for the coupe!
You have to butcher the bumper and the undertray to fit pretty much any FMIC larger than a Pace one.

If you needed to chop something then you didn´t install it properly. I installed a PA kit and didn´t need to chop anything I have never had an undertray on my car, but if i did i suspect it would have needed chopping up.
The undertray and front bumper needs some triming to fit. Always use the undertray. It´s there for a good reason

If you needed to chop something then you didn´t install it properly. I installed a PA kit and didn´t need to chop anything I installed it perfectly, they must have cut the pipes a bit too long on mine. Fits like a glove Also, I have seen on more than one other Pro Alloy FMIC fitted coupe that one or more of the silicone bends is bent more than it should be or pushed out of shape, especially the S-bend at the top.

Greg, there is no contradiction The first quote I´m comment on the PA kit. The second quote I´m comment on the undertray and front bumper. These are two different things. You should at least know the difference between an undertray and a PA kit Or maybe you don´t Maybe I´m wrong here, but I always thought that Highwayman and PA put this kit together and it is top quality. That´s why I commented on the fitting and that he needed to chop things to get it sorted.

Have you checked the lenght with other PA FMIC owners? Maybe there are more people that have had issues with the PA kit

No, I chopped an inch or two off a couple of the pipes and thought nothing more of it after that. It took about 2 minutes, not what I would call an issue, seeing as it took the best part of an hour to drill the holes in the panel to mount it in, and cut my bumper into shape

Gotta be honest i'm buying one of the turbo revs ones for mine and from the look of it matts piping is shorter than the pa intercooler (running from cooler to turbo that is lol) so really thats a better to have piping you can chop down as your route can be as short as possible, where as im guessing your pa kit was a perfect fit and has longer piping which correct me if im wrong but thats not so good lol. Well thats what the pic looks like where ya can see both cooler pipes on the right side.

As requested here are the details of how i have routed the pipework for the turborevs FMIC; From the intercooler to the throttle body (right hand side as looking at car), i used the following parts; 1x straight reducer from 3" to 2.5"(bought seprately), 3x 90 degree bend hose (2 provided in kit and 1 from original piping), and one of the straight lengths of hard piping (in kit). I put the reducer onto the intercooler, then attached a short piece of hardpipe(as a joining), then created a sort of U-turn with 2 of the 90degree bends and another small piece of hard pipe. Clicky and Click Then i added another 90 degree bend, again using a short piece of hard pipe as a joiner, pointing upwards towards the bonnet. Into this bend i put the long length of straight hardpipe, and then this just connects to the original pipe coming from the throttle body, Click . Thats the right hands side sorted, that was pretty straight forward. From intercooler to turbo i used the following parts; 1x reducer 1x U-turn hardpipe (provided in kit) 1x silicon pipe joiner 1x 135degree hardpipe 1x original silicon reducer to turbo (already on car) I added the reducer to the intercooler, and then into that i put the U-Turn hardpipe.(NB, i had to saw approx 90mm off both ends of this pipe) I then used the silicon pipe joiner(in kit) to join the u-turn to the 135 degree bend. (NB, i had to chop approx 100mm from 1 end of 135 pipe) Click Now, to join the pipework to the turbo, i've gotta be honest, I bodged it! I used the original hose and chopped around 70mm off the smaller diameter end, then spun it round so it could connect to the new pipework. All this pipework was hanging very very low when i first installed it, so what i ended up doing was cutting the towing loop thing off, and then pushing the pipe up as high as it would go, in front of the oil cooler pipes and ran it along the bar which the radiator sits on. Finished it sits roughly 15mm lower than the twoing loop thing did.(dont need towing loop thing, the proer towing eye screws in through the bumper). Please note that some pipes etc, may need trimming to size with a hacksaw. Took a lot of trial and error! Finished product looks ok Click Just another note, if you get this right first time you will be left with quite a few hardpipes and small silicon joiners, which, you could flog on ebay, and these go for quite a surprising amount(around £10 each)! Keep it a secret though! Any questions, comments, or requests please ask!

Are these reducers necessary? seems a bit odd to sell a fmic kit with ends that don't match the pipework? Was hoping to get it on this weekend but can't see that happening without those!!
Cheers for the help so far matt!
