Hello all, I have just started looking for a coop to join all you lucky people. I went to see one (a yellow 20v p reg) today which seemed in good nick with 86,000 on the clock however it didn't have a service book with the car - should I be put off? The dealer was upfront with things that needed doing (cam belt change, new hydrolic arm for the bonnet hood) and before buying it I would get it checked by the RAC to make sure there were no other underlying problems. I would like peoples opinions on whether the service book being missing is a problem or not? Thanks Sam

My coupe never came with a service book, but it came with a huuuge pile of receipts for all the work ever done, which is far more worthy to me than a book with some stamps in.

Sam,Hi and welcome, there are so many bad coops out there, but some nice ones on sale in this forum! Its all relevent to what you want to pay etc but the less you pay up front usually means the more you pay in the long run! If the dealer is going to do all that needs doing after getting your check and your happy, then go for it,and good luck! cheers Paul.

Do a HPI check and see if you get a mileage warning. Secondly someone posted up a link to the DVLA where you can look through old MOT's and it lists the mileage as well.
Personally I am very suspicious of missing history so beware.
