Only kidding :-)
Sorry
I need some pics from inside the engine bay around the exhaust areas. The plan is to make a quick prototype with the standard manifold I've bought and some basic dims and pictures from one of you guys. Then the dream could become reallity like I've done for the 16vt models :-)
Just need to hold your tapemeasure to show clearances around the manifold to the rad, bonnet and any other bits that could be in the way.
Thanks in advance

Are you making these from measurements Paul?

Joe.

I take it you won't be using a heatshield with this?

Noticed the other day that without the heatshield my water temps got to 98 degrees much quicker than usual. Also the wiring to the fans were pretty warm. I only drove the car for 30 mins.

You can always make a heat shield though, heat wrap it, zircotec coat it, move your fans to the other side of the rad, or angle the rad forward slightly too.

I think fabricating a heat shield to go with the manifold will be the simplest long term solution, it can't be too difficult to knock up?

I doubt your fan wiring will last long without it unless you uprate the loom.

Yes I'll draw up the prototype from measurements, provided someone gives the dims I want then I can make a box to replicate the rad and bonnet. I'll use a cross section drawing of the engine for other dims.
Do you have the pictures? and measurements.

I'll do the manifold first and then if needed look into the other bits.
Do you have the pics and measurements I'm after?

These guys make Manifolds. I saw them at the NEC motorsport show last year and thier working is amazing.

Prices are:
Coupe 16VT = 1092Euros + 150TNT
Coupe 20VT = 1344Euros + 150TNT

I think you have miss read the thread, I don't want to buy a manifold for £1000 plus inflated postage. The whole point of this thread is to supply you guys with manifolds for £375 plus actual postage costs of £20 in the UK and £50 outside the UK.
Have a look at the attached pictures of the manifold I do for the Fiat Coupe 16vt, I sell these for £335.00 through ebay.

If I was near Leicester I'd be round there like a shot with my 20vt and a tape measure, c'mon guys, no volunteers?

But I'd only want one if it fits with A/C in place, and with some sort of heat shield too

Any pics of what the manifold looks like on the 16vt when fitted and having been ragged a while?

Hi - if you fancy a trip over to Coventry during the working week, you can have a poke around under my bonnet and measure up - the car isn't standard, but it is running a standard manifold, so all the dimensions will be the same as a standard car

There are some huge problems with the tubular manifolds:
- Non space for the fans
- Must build heatshild, since heatwrapping is impossible, the manifold is very twisted
- The water rail will have a hose coming VERY close to one of the branches
- A/C compressor will probably need to be moved a bit, and some heat shield made to protect it more

You can see my experiences/pics here:

Hi,
that was a good read, thanks for pointing me to it. i think it may be a difficult project but worth doing in the end because the standard ones crack and the tubular cost a small fortune...

The Punto GT.... don't talk to me about those bloody things, I bought a Punto GT off of ebay and had nothing but nightmares with it. The Punto GT must be one of the hardest cars in the world to work on.
I still have an engine in the garage and a manifold but just cannot bring myself to work on it again.

Forget measurements. What you need is a mock up or spare engine or the cylinder head of a 20vt to make the prototype.

I'm looking to buy one at the moment. However I can only find one place that has them for sale:

Scara73 of Italy

The welds on the part you bolt onto the engine don't look very neat and the inside of the collector looks very rough. The angle of the flange doesn't look 90 degrees to the engine, I need to check the standard manifold to compare. However they will build with either 35 or 38mm diameter pies and, whatever size flange you want and with/without an external wastegate pipe.

I'll try and give the Greek site a call (NS Racing) as they don't have an email address.

I can't find anything on ebay.

I emailed The Tuning Web Shop as they sell Hormann stuff but they stopped selling the 20VT manifold due to lack of demand. I checked the Hormann web site and they also only list the 16VT manifold.

Thanks. I spoke to NSRacing yesterday and sent them a few questions via thier email address which they gave me. I'm interested to see the quality their manifold. I'll post some pictures when I get them.

I've got the pictures back from NSRacing for their 20VT manifold. Wow it looks fantastic. Very neat design (very different from Scari73), smooth flowing curves and beautiful workmanship. It even includes a boss. I'll post the picture on my Photobucket account tonight.

Downsides are:

1) It's only 35mm which is okay for a 2.0 but I think I need 38mm for a 2.4
2) No provision for an external wastegate although it looks like one could be welded on.
3) There is no way the existing heat shield would fit and a custom one would need to me made.

Looks like a better design in a number of ways.
Ideally an external wastegate pipe would be spliced in with the other primaries although it could go where that boss is located.

I would like to know thickness, because I will try to manufacturer one. My factory manifold is almost broken.
