I've had a month or so running my suspension quite hard - a bit uncomfortable on really bumpy roads, but it helped with cornering feel. I also dropped the tyre pressur slightly (to 37psi) to filter out some of the nastier bumps.

However, on Sunday I softened the front suspension again, and went back to 39psi and the handling difference is noticeably better.

Turn in is much sharper and understeer is reduced.

I always remember being surprised to find that uprating the REAR antiroll bar gave better turn in - took me ages to work out why, but it would appear that reducing the damping at the front has had a similar effect.

I originally thought my tyres were wearing badly (only half worn) as the understeer was worse than I've ever had before. Five minutes adjustment has saved my spending £160 unneccesarily. \:D

If you soften the front of a stiff car it allows more "give" for the chassis/suspension before the tyres are overwhelmed by the heavy weight transfer at the front of the car.
