The last thing I said to her is "be careful"! Pictures are here...Insurance assessor coming out, I'm certain it'll be a write-off because of the bonnet. Then comes the negotiation about the value etc etc. What advice do people have? (Apart from never letting the missus drive my cars again)...

The darling missus drove into the back of someone in slow-moving traffic. Apparently playing with the stereo... I was so looking forward to the Coop meet on Sunday too

Oh dear bro On the plus side it looks like the bonnet took the brunt of the impact so the chassis legs might be OK. New bonnet and maybe bumper? The wings look OK right? Can you get a pic inside the bonnet or wont it lift? Tell Jenny she can draw me a new sig

Bro, The wings are fine, but I can't lift the bonnet to see if there's any damage inside the engine bay. At least there's no water p*ssing out or anything. Might try again to lever the bonnet open later.

If the asessor was coming today then I woould come over tomorrow and help you take the bumper and slam panel off, remove the radiators and have a better look at it all If they need replacing, I think the main slam panel that has been pushed back is around £140 and the crossmember the radiator sits on is £40. Plus the Zender bumper and the bonnet with spraying, got to be looking at a grand with all the bits if you fit them yourself

exactly the same thing happened to me 3yrs ago (also slow moving traffic, also fiddling with the radio...) Check carefully for broken headlight/foglight assembly mounts (ups the cost if you have to replace them) Check v.carefully for tiny radiator leaks.
pity, hope you can fix it!
