I called him up and apparently the injector light sometimes comes on and then off.

Is this a fault sensor?

Not necessarily, the manual states that it can come on and go out quickly in normal use. Staying on is an issue.

That car looks ok too!

if it is a faulty sensor then they are easy to replace, one is a lot cheaper than the other though.
changed mine last week and no more injector light

How much should I budget for it in case it turns out serious?

It's most probably the thermostat/coolant sensor so parts will be between £50-60 and it's an easy DIY job \:\)

Getting it done in a garage budget between £100-£150 so aim to knock off £200 from the asking price \:\)

Hmm, just looking again at the advert: "Cambelt and turbo both done recently: Cambelt 54k" but the car has done 88k miles now so I'd be wondering when exactly the cam belt was done. Realistically you'd be looking at 4yrs and/or 50k miles.

Last edited by stan; 29/03/2008 20:19. Reason: added the cam belt question

So budget another £400 \:\) Coupes are generally not cars to run on a very tight budget \:\)

Possibly, unless the car has been doing a reasonable mileage every year?
