I am looking to buy a 20v turbo this weekend but all insurance quotes are coming out at like 1000+ thats for 24 yrs old and 4 years no claims, no points on leince.
I only paid £600 for my 3.0l twin turbo 300zx and the same for my mr2 turbo, but no one seems to want to insure me with a fiat coupe

Phoning round is pretty much the only way. Seems strange, though - the 20VT is a group higher than the 300ZX, but a group lower than the MR2 turbo.

Dear monos, a secret truth.

some companies are funny about uner 25's on these cars. I turned 25 last week and now can get insured anywhere for a lot less than I was pre-25!!!

You will find someone who will insure you for a good price but just look around. And with 4 years no claims you should be alright. Sainsbury's or Tesco insured me before I was 25 on my last coupe so try them!

Greenlight qouted me 774 so looks like im gonna go with that. Adrain flux can get me £20 less but is on a classic policy and millage is restricted.

You guys have cheap insurance over there. \:o

18 months ago a 20VT would be almost £2,000 for me fully comp, aged 29 with Full 5 years NCB, no claims ever and no penalty points!!

Of course it's come down to a 'reasonable' level. Now. Just £700 next renewal aged 31 with 7 years NCB, no claims ever and no points

BTW I'm with a very good insurance Co.who are well known in my area for being the cheapest around and the nicest to deal with!!

By all means try Quinn, but there are horror stories about them when trying to claim...cheap for a reason by all accounts

Try Adrian Flux, Greenlight, HIC, Noel Dazely and Liverpool Victoria - all reputable companies who are coupe friendly \:\) Also, if you are over 21, give Chris Knott a call - if you mention the Fiat Forum, they will beat your best quote by 10% \:\)

It's worth noting that drooling low premiums are region dependant. I recently moved from Colchester to a CR postcode and that added £150 to my premium.

Sounds ok, try Elephant if it's standard \:\)

Then phone Chris Knott quoting the Fiat Forum and they'll beat your best quote by 10% \:\)

I've just tried moneysupermarket for the first time and very surprised at the results. OK I'm an old duffer at 44 but got a quote from the Post Office (the first house hold name on the list) at £320 for the full mashings incl business use but there were some that were cheaper. Need to speak re the light mods. I'm with Noel D who have been great sorting out my recent bump - but I'm on a premium in excess of £500! Could be time for a change methinks \:\?
