How about posting "If anybody is dealing with ***** contact me first! Maybe speak to the Administrators and have him/her put in the yellow room.

I'd like to think that the prospect of being named & shamed on the forum would be enough for them to come forward and do the decent thing without you actually having to go through with it. Bad state of affairs though and I know it's something that others have had to contend with in the past. It's just not decent. I doubt the mods can do much but have you discussed it with any of them? (It isn't me is it? )

I told you... cheques in the post! Seriously though mate, ask one of the mods, or the new president. I'm sure they'll be able to help in a dispute as they're likely to have contact details. Also - Perhaps this member's on holiday? Do they have many posts? ***Off topic alert*** Stan - when is boris coming back?

DannyKela still over 6 months on owes us £25. Apart from i was told it was my own fault by admin for being trusting.
Disapeared for about 3 months, now logs on and ignores anything we send him.

What would you fellow members do?
Thanks, Mr C Learn my lesson and never trust anyone on a public forum and never send stuff out without prior payment Why do forum members do this ? Unless you know someone personally why send it out in the first place. If they cant collect and pay cash, paypal, bank transfer or send a postal order first class then just dont send the stuff. And if they want to send a cheque then wait until it clears. I am not having a go at you Mrc, but even for low value items why send the stuff out (at your own cost as well) to someone at the other end of the country on the promise they will pay you ? Just seems like your asking for trouble.

In all fairness though, if you're the 'soft' sort of person, then you believe that this is a nice, close forum and sort of think you trust a regular forum poster. I know there's a few I feel I could trust and would send out goods first, in the same way that I think/hope a few members would trust me You do eventually learn your lesson, but I know how Mr C feels and it's not fair that the other person has taken advantage of his trust

On the other hand you get the people who you pay and never receive whats you've paid for.
I paid Davej £20 for a pair of bonnet lifters back in July and have still not received them, i've had many a PM off him up until about 3 months ago with various shit excuses and now he just doesn't bother at all.
I've had plenty of help off admin trying to get either a refund or my bonnet lifters but doubt i'll ever see either now!

As long as you have a 'for sale section', cannot see ever, there being a way to stop this. Only way is to have a third party to hold the money until part arrives. The vast majority on here are trusted I hope!!! Andy.

@ moderators: why not start a Feedback Topic in the Marketplace section Members can leave a positive or a negative feedback message after a transaction. Seems to work just fine in the German Forum

I hate scum that do this, there is no excuse for it, they know exactly what they are doing. Why can't we name and shame them all? There are probably people that use this forum a few times ever, so as to appear trustworthy, just sell a dodgy coupe etc.. you have to be so careful.

Totally agree, but whatever checks people put in place be it feedback (that could end up giving a false sense of security) there are always going to be people who come on here and rip people off. Its not difficult to register under a different name and start again with a different user id. About the only thing I would like to see is if a user is a paid up forum member. At least you know then that they have had to fork out some money and pay with a cheque. So the bottom line is dont send things if you dont have payment and if you are buying something then either collect it or use paypal/credit card.

On puntosports they operate an itrader rating where feedback is left for each sale like ebay.
worth looking into?
