Was a great time there. Massive thunderstorm on the Wednesday night which shook the ground, followed by chasing a pikey out of the tent in the early hours of Thursday Morning Blazing hot the rest of the time, good racing, good bbq, quality video of one of the Astons trashing it on the Porsche Curves after 20 minutes Oh and the Tropicana Girls - now how can I justify those pics to the gf? Nice drive with the new motorway. Only saw a green coupe (plus alloys) in an enclosure. There was an Murc and GT3 in same enclosure. Didnt see your General LDV van, but saw an A-Team van

So many highlights The brown Allegro, the Matt black Rolls Royce, the 2 guys dreesed up as British Police in a Silver Cobra, who I heard were actually directing traffic at one point and although I was warned, I really was stunned with the way the French pikeys take absolutely anything thats left behind.....

Took our cheap BBQ as we were loading the cars on the Monday Morning. Shame we forgot to put it together properly and had half the screws / nuts left So that will last all summer.....NOT

It was my first time to Le Mans this year. It was absolutely brilliant. Had only had my 20v turbo (ink black) for about a month before the trip down. I felt the coupe was a nice car to take because it was quick when keeping up with convoys on the trip down and back. It is also quite rare so it wasn't too feeble in comparison to the exotica present. Quite a special car especially when every frenchman seems to have a sh@tbox diesel 106 or similar. Highlight for me was the noise of the Corvettes (sound like a spitfire) and the drive home after the race accompanied by all sorts of exotica - TVR's, Porkers, Lambo Diablo, Countach, classic Alfa's etc. Also had to laugh at the M3 CSL that flew past us on the way back when we were cruising at 100, only to be pulled by the Gendarmes two mins later. Hope he did not get a ban as i have heard a few people that had. Gonna go for longer next year though and will hide ALL things away as the local pikeys robbed our folding chairs on Sat evening.

There was a blue 20VT in the same campsite as me (Beausejour)
That was me
Got to take her out on the track at the end - up and under the Dunlop and down to where they had closed off the Mulsanne, back the wrong way across the finish line at a ton and up to Porsche before I turned round and got slung off! Quality!!! Trust everyone had a great weekend? R

This was my mate Mark, driving his friends CSL. He did get stopped for exactly 100mph (or the KMH equivalent), and got an 80 Euro fine IIRC, he was lucky (he had been doing 160mph a few miles before!)!
More funny/unfortunate is what happened to the CSL. At Mulsanne the driver did the obligatory slow down and blast by the crowd, this went fine, until further up when he wanted to do a turn and come back around to pick up my friend Mark (who was filming). He swung wide, ready to do a 180, planted the throttle and it wasn't going to swing round, so he went to dab the brake but his flip flop got stuck and jammed the accelerator down. Wham, straight into the barrier! New bumper, arch liner, wing, light and various other small parts are now needed! It got back to the Uk on a back of a truck, Oops, how embarrasing. It must have looked to everyone else that he hated his car and just rammed it into the barrier! Not sure that Flip Flops are the finest driving footwear
Corvette C6 (manual of course)

Dave, he was probably doing about 160 when he went past us. That guy was on a mission. Forgot to mention that we chased a 911 and Sagaris through Le Mans town centre on the way back. Great fun!

Forgot to mention. On the Tuesday before I received a call from a mate who works for the Sebah team (they were #89) and offered me the position of Pit board man for the race. Needless to say even though it was a great offer, I didnt fancy sitting there in overalls for 24 hours non stop in the blazing sun Maybe if there werent a group of us going but how could I miss the beers and other stuff?

To be honest, I think that would be superb fun for the first two hours of the race, and then it would become such a chore! You'd see people walking everywhere with their plastic biere pression grands (s'il vous plait) and would die of longing for a cold beer... Torture
