Right, just to cut a long story short. Iv been looking to sell my car and buy a 350z, then thought why not just use the extra cash to upgrade my car a lil more instead so this is where i stand. I have all bolt on mods now running around 350bhp @ 1.25 bar boost. So what i want to know now is what sort of engine internal upgrades will i need and how much will it cost. So far i have come up with forged pistons and a new turbo i think because i have gt28rs.86 housing is that correct? i am planning to upgrade my suspention as well as theres a nasty nocking sound when going over big bumps so if someone could let me know the best handling gear. cheers for any help!

Headwork improves power and spoolup, you'll have to check the torqueitalia website for prices, I can't remember. There is a thread on this somewhere.
Tubular manifold - better spoolup and I think power. Expensive though, around 1 grand.
External wastegate - better spoolup and power, no idea on the cost.
Thats some things off the top of my head.

To do it properly you need - head that can flow 400BHP - ported exhaust manifold - Forged pistons - Forged rods - Helix clutch - Walbro GS341 or GS342 with voltage mod - Live map or whatever - 380cc/min injectors or better - full 3" turbo-back straight through exhaust without cat would be advisable - Decent boost controller I suppose But then you don't really want to run std brembos for 400BHP either so think about brake upgrades to - 330mm disc/caliper conversion ideally Think carefully about it as you wont add much value to your 7-11 year old car for doing all this... Is it serious, should I start therapy I wonder V. When you're doing pioneering or challenging stuff often the journey is better than the outcome. For me the interest was always in the engineering and using the engineering to push the boundaries of the car and my knowledge. I would quite happily start again on a different project if someone offered me decent money for my car.

How much would you roughly budget for 350hp to 450hp Engine? - Turbo (Off set against selling 28R £900) - head that can flow 400BHP (£1k) - ported exhaust manifold (Tubular £1k) - External wastegate (£400?) - Forged pistons - Forged rods (£3k Fitted) - C&B cams (£600) - Helix clutch (Would a Walkers 6 survive?) - Walbro GS341 or GS342 with voltage mod (£100 Balance against selling 255) - Live map or whatever (£1-2k) - 380cc/min injectors or better (£?) - Swirl Pot (£250?) - full 3" turbo-back straight through exhaust without cat would be advisable (Got that but £750?) - Decent boost controller I suppose (Got that too but again £300) I DON'T want to add that up Would Evo front mount survive?

If you're spending that much why not add another grand and get MOTEC with traction control and all the other bits.

If i was going to 450hp then I think I would Motec! I'd imagine it would be worth it! Coz the power would be totally usable! Who does it? Are my Estimates correct??

Motec for a Coupe has only been done by Owen Developments in the UK. Cost is thick end of £2k for the ECU plus a lot for mapping and some more for traction contol. Not a cheap option by any means.
As for prices - - Turbo (Off set against selling 28R) - £500 - head that can flow 400BHP (£1k) - ported exhaust manifold (Tubular £600) - External wastegate (£400 inc piping - Forged pistons - Forged rods (£3k Fitted) - C&B cams (£650) - Helix clutch (Would a Walkers 6 survive?) Probably not because they use recon cover plates - Walbro GS341 or GS342 with voltage mod (£100 Balance against selling 255) if you already have a 255lph you may be ok, it's only the GS340 and the low pressure version that cannot flow it. - Live map or whatever (£1-2k) £750 I guess - 380cc/min injectors or better (£?) £250 - Swirl Pot (£250?) £500+ with all the piping - but you will also then need an external pump which adds another £100 - if you do this you DO NOT need to uprate your in-tank pump as it flows without pressure so can flow enough. - full 3" turbo-back straight through exhaust without cat would be advisable (Got that but £750?) - Decent boost controller I suppose (Got that too but again £300) Probably would want an AVCR
Evo 6 intercooler is just about up to it.

I think you have three options for an external ECU:
Motec M400 / M800 Pectel SQ6 OMEX OM17
For motec you'll be going to Owen Developments.

You can also use VEMS instead of Motec. Full system inc. wiring, install and car setup is usually around £1k in our country. Shouldn't be much more in UK then!?

Of the three only on the Motec is there a base map available AFAIK, and it is the only proven one. It does offset the cost somewhat because a base map can be a couple of days work/labour to do, and in general tuners charge anything from £75/hour upwards.

Who makes Tubular manifolds? is that a custom affair? Doesn't have to be. I noticed one on saito's site and have my italian tuning shop on the case.

But for an external waste gate it would have to be custom? I like the sound of Motec. What other features does it have? I not very bright me Thanks
