My Yellow 20VT was stolen early Tuesday morning - 9th October from Chingford, London E4. Please keep an eye out as someone may see it parked up / thrashed / burnt out? Thanks, Richard.

[censored]. Seems the new breed of scumbag owners take to nicking them rather than buying engines. The moon grey plus stole from your way has just been found, Recaro's & engine/box now missing

They forced front door, picked up keys from kitchen table plus the usual phone, credit cards, wife's handbag etc. Then drove it away. This was at 3:30 a.m while I was asleep! The thing was that I heard a nice sounding car tearing down the road - did not occur to me that it was mine First I knew was at 06:00 when I went to make a cup of tea to find the front door wide open - not a nice experience. Car has a "distinctive" 2 foot dent in the drivers side behind the door- thanks to someone t-boning me the week before. It was about to go to the garage for some bodywork repairs - guess I can cancel that now as I doubt I will ever see it again. Just waiting for the inevitable punch-up with the insurers now.

Really bad luck Rich - in a way its probably better if you dont get it back as it will doubtless have been totally thrashed
Hope you get a decent deal from the insurance
It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living

This is terrible. I know the feeling of having a car stolen. I had a BMW stolen a few years back. Phone call 2 days later off the police, said they had found it, and to take a blanket with me. Yep, they had spread poo all over the interior!! Stole the car for parts,as half the bolt on panels and front bumper was missing. Now i suffer with insomnia.!! Andy.

Sorry to hear about your Coop mate . What you need to get is a dog,my 2 Border Collies go mental if they sniff someone creeping round the outside of the house at night . Baz

Funny enough, I used to have an Alsatian cross who was a great guard dog, only ever barked if there really was a noise outside or he thought something was up.....then one night my shed was done over (for power tools, left everything else inc pushbikes) and they smashed the door to matchsticks, which must have made a lot of noise, but the dog never made a sound Anyway, back on cars, I was surprised at the title of this thread, as I hadn't heard of a Coupe being stolen before. Our local parish council magazine came round a few days ago and they warned about a rise in high value cars being stolen exactly like yours - people getting the keys from inside the house. Apparently people are being followed home, pics taken, then they come back for the car later. Always take the keys upstairs with me too.

Baz I also have 2 border collies. They are just mental. Period. Useless as guard dogs though; they just lick you to death. Sorry to hear about your coop. Good excuse to trade up to a plus though

Sorry to hear about this. I still find it hard to believe a coupe is top of a car thiefs list. There not exactly worth lots of money. Although stealing for the engines

really sorry to hear about your car rich, hope you get it back, and the experience doesn't put you off owning a coupe. on a lighter note, i suppose people could try attaching their keys to the dogs collar at night (especially those with a potentially vicious looking dog) ??? maybe that would deter them? Surley, if you were going to strip a plus (ref carlt's post) and you had time to take the engine and box + recaros you would have bothered with tthe doorcards and gaiter too? only little bits but makes the difference with the red stitching. Then again i suppose scum usually arent noted for their intelligence.....

Thanks all for your comments - I hadn't considered it might get as far away as Cornwall Thanks to gurly_racer for that thought!!!! I'm convinced it will have had its engine removed and be stripped out/dumped. I live near Epping Forest and I see many cars burnt out there. So far mine is not one of them. I have to remain at least a bit philosophical about this as it can be replaced and a new Coupe presents new opportunities? Shame though as this one was going so well. Cheers all, Rich.
