Slight shade change for respray? #426280

I was wondering...

I'm having a complete respray in a couple of months. My car is a red LE and the paint definitely looks to be on the orange side of the red spectrum. Especially so when parked alongide my wifes red Alfa 156. I thought this was down to oxidation, but its the same after T-cutting.

If I asked the body shop to do the car a slightly different shade, I could get away without having to have the engine bay etc etc done as well.

Any thoughts?

James

do it in orange then it will match up nicely ;\) could be worse, could be pink! \:P

If it's only a very slight difference you'd be able to get away with it no problem.

I've not got any immediate plans to spray my coupé but if/when I do I thought a nice metallic red would look cool.

I had this done on a previous fiat. Had the outside a slightly brighter red, left all the shuts and engine bay the old colour, nobody really noticed, had to keep the old bits nice and shiney but it obviously depends what extreme the colour change is.

I think you will get away with it as long as its a subtle difference. I've been thinkin about a metallic next not sure on colour yet tho mines sprint blue

If I was having my sprinty one resprayed I'd go for the slightly darker shade they now do the very modern Stilo in. Looks just like sprint blue but a bit more "masculine".

As for the Speed red - I've been looking around and saw a 57 reg Nissan with beautiful red paint (close the the Fiat shade but just less orangey) and also few others I like the look of.

I'm still undecided - the original shade again is the safest option (and prob make resale easier) but it would be nice to have a slight change.

Hmmmm. Any nice reds anyone could recommend?

James

Cheers gents.

I love the look of that Ducati red but I'm not brave enough to go for a colour change as radical as orange (no matter how tasty it looks in that pic!).

The BMW mini red is nice. I saw one in a car park earlier and even went to the lenghts of parking the LE up alongside it and (casually so no one would notice ) tried to imagine the coop in that colour. Hmmmmmm.

LE red is stonking when its newly painted.

Probably just a shite paintjob in the past like most red coupes.

Remember if your altering the shade its going to cost alot more money for all the apertures, otherwise it will look stupid.

Yes I think so.

The 16v cars were a different red though.

Red cars are faster....scientific evidence suggests that if you drive a red car you will go faster to make up for youre inadequate sex life. Coupes are just the car for you then as they will ensure that no girl ever looks in you direction so she will never find out what a crap shag you are!!!! Tee Hee! \:P

I don't like Pearly White so there \:P

Audi have the bestest Red it's just \:# so deep and, well, red \:\/

That polish orange coop is a Volvo gold colour

I think the new Orange punto colour is the dogs \:# (much better than the Focus orange) A coupé would look very nice in that.
