I have a 16V aspirated, the engine in Brazil is de-tuned to 137hp, what is the best option to get to 200hp or little bit more with RELIABILITY?
I already orderd e 3" ragazzon exhaust to start...
any suggestions will be welcomed...

thanks

Get a turbo engine

To get 200bhp N/A will need alot more work/money then getting a turbo engine and loom.

To get 200n/a you would need a flowed head, cams, more air, valve springs, likely big revs etc, you get 200bhp out of a standard 16V turbo unit

A 200bhp N/A while drivable in traffic won't be happy and to get it realiable you with need to use good (read expensive) parts

I seem to remember that the model range was different in Brazil, but getting a 20/16vt car is the easiest way.

If you look around, Honza(from the Czech Republic I think \:\? )
has gone pretty far in tuning his 16v. I don't know about his exact power, but it sounds like it's around the amount you want. His spec list is:

head work
compression ratio 11,3:1 (lowered engine block , modified pistons)
removed balancing shafts
custom cams (294°/285° , lift 10,3mm , full lift 106°/107°)
balanced rods , pistons a crank
lighted flywheel
custom throtle body (modified standart)
adjustable fuel pressure reg. set at 3,4bar
custom chip (rev limiter set at 7500rpm)
custom exhaust (standart manifold ->60mm pipe -> modified standart rear silencer)

Which tbh doesn't sound cheap. Maybe you should ask him about what to do? He seems to have had a fair amount of success with it, his 16v is quicker than a standard 20vt now.

It isn´t easy to get 200bhp from NA engine , but it is unreal.
If you want a reliable engine , you should use many new parts (new oil and fuel pump etc..).

my suggestion is

-C&B cams (I use custom profile cams with low lift-regrinded standart cams.In next engine I will use custom profile cams too , but with higher lift.)
-gas flowed head with valve seat work
-higher compression ratio
-removed balancing shafts (you can use block without balancing shafts)
-custom chip or standalone ecu
-new exhaust with headers - I think that 3" exhaust is to big , use 2.25"-2.5" exhaust with 4-1 headers
-maybe oil cooler , uprated cluth ..

because with NA engine you can get High power in high rpm, it is good to use forged pistons and rods. I runnig with standart pistons and rods (polished and balanced). The standart pistons and rods are wery heavy - 800 grams and 500 grams.

if you have much money, you can use throtle bodies.

Sometimes I use my coupe in normal trafic. It isn´t easy to drive it in low speed , because under 3000rpm the engine sometimes jerking. Now the mileage of the engine is 10000km without problem.
I could say, that the mods what i´ve done on the coupe are economical - I could use more expensive parts .

The engine built with some new parts cost 1800eur. and live mapping 500eur.I don´t know exact price, because i don´t want to know it:) I want to have fastest 2l NA engine in czech republic so I will build new engine with more mods.
many people say to me - change it for 20VT, but i love my coupe.I have it over seven years..

On this forum is another man with strong 16v engine - nickname sedicirich.

20 years with yellow 2.0 16v NA
22 years with black SEDICIVALVOLE

Thanks a lot for the help...
Also, I'm considering the idea of putting a turbo on it...
But the idea of having a high rev engine is much better...
a third idea would be buying a 20vt engine (from the fiat marea) and putting on the car, but this will be really expensive...

thanks a lot

So will tuning the 16v ;\) and a 20vt has more scope for tuning. If you fell like you want a real high-revving engine though, maybe tuning the 16v is the way forwards for you.
