"Plus" alloys on an LE? #390995

Hi y'all

I am seriously thinking about transfering all the mods from my 20VT to my std LE - and possibly the twin-spoke plus alloys.

I do like them better than the std/LE alloys and was wondering what they would look like refurbished to the LE "titanium" colour.

So these wheels... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/jamesperks/SSL20187.jpg
on this car... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/jamesperks/SSL20218.jpg

Photoshop anyone?

James

Looks for pics of Skins or Rolys they both have twin spokes in a darker colour, maybe darker than the LE. Check under the recent SE meet, you will probably see Rolys car there.

Would look good IMO \:\)

I think they would look good too. The plus alloys are always my favourites. Maybe keep the LEs as spares, when you come to sell it on I think a lot of people would prefer to have the original LE wheels.

I would photoshop up for you but the stretching of the wheels due to the angle difference (although slight) in the photos makes them look too odd and a bit sh1t \:P

I reckon they could look nice, if you get some shots of both cars from side on and taken from the same height I will happily swap over and alter the colour for you.

I was wandering about this a few weeks ago after seeing some plus alloys got me thinking.

Still undecided I think I prefer the normal ones but would like to see the results

I'm tempted to look for a standard silver set for winter use, the Alloys on mine came Silver, and it looks quite nice qwith the Chrono \:\)

Plus wheels on anything other than a Plus look odd, to me.

Yep, like sticking an LE trim in a plus, its just wrong.

Blocky did it on his black LE and it made it look more of a shed to be honest.

LE's and Plus' look just right as they are i think.

Yeh well im sure half the forum who viewed it would share my opinion on that. And the other half who viewed it again when it went up for sale 10 days later.

Hmmm, mixed opinions then.

Tell you what, I'm going to put two of the plus wheels on the LE and see what it looks like. I'll post up a pic or two later.

I say no Jap, if I had an LE I'd keep it totally standard on the outside, and original. I'd stick all the mods in the engine bay tho!

Coopless!

Right - I've had a go.

Now, I know it doesn't look "LE-ish" but I think it definitely looks better with the Plus alloys on.

I've never been a fan of dark alloys and really think the Plus wheels brighten the car up. They possibly look a bit bright TBH and I might get them colour coded to the silver LE trim colour.

Here you go then...

Think you should sell the plus wheels (they belong on a plus) and get some nice Azevs instead!!

Cheers all.

I know its a marmite type thing but I love the plus wheels and not a big fan of the std ones - esp in dark colours.

I know the dark std wheels look good on some LE's but I just think the bright plus wheels look better on mine.

Not so mean an menacing maybe, but nicer in a different way. I can always pop the LE wheels back on anyhow. I'll be keeping them in the garage.

I thought this was going to look poor as your avatar is all wrong. But it looks not bad on the red LE but I'm not sure how it'll go with the titanium coloured rear light surrounds and filler cap.

Looks ok, but I prefer the LE wheels. \:\)

I prefer the look of the wheels on your Sprint Blue car in this one -

Mmm, tasty

\:P \:D

I think the plus alloys in anthracite would look ok, but IMO, the standard LE wheels look better on your car, sorry.

Cheers Dave.

No need to apologise - I'm looking for opinions.

I'll have both sets anyway so I can always chop and change to suit my mood.
