Hi,

I haven't looked into this too much but was thinking of replaceing the two rubber pedels in my 20Vt with some alloy ones like in the LE. How would you go about doing this? I can see the accelerator has a number of bolts behind it but the brake and clutch seen to be solid. Do I need to replace the arms or if I pull the rubber covering of, are their some threaded holes hiding down there.

GRAHAM.

Cheers, I found a thread on google Cache of the old site and it basically said the same. Remove the rubbers, line up the new plate, mark them and drill them being careful not to go through some support behind the actual plate that will weaken them. Also makes the note of stating not put the replacements too close together or it could be an MOT failure.

You're right about the spacing. I believe there are certain measurement guidelines which might be worth investigating before you drill 'em.

Use a block of wood behind the pedals to lean into and you won't bugger anything up when you go through the metal

I've just come un-stuck with this. Have a set of Carbon Sparco's (Ink Black Coop), however, on offering them up, I can only get 30mm clearance between the accelerator and the brake peddle, and for the MOT you need to have at least 50mm. Not sure how closely the MOT guy is going to be looking for something like this, but I'm going to be looking to get a set that gives me better clearance just in case.

I have fitted the Coupe sparco pedals in silver
Pedals
The gap between the brake an accelerator is 43mm.

I may move the it to make 50mm before the MOT.

I did not fit the accelerator one as there was no suitable place to drill through, you will see what I mean if you feel the reverse side of the pedal.

These also bolt over and are the same as the LE ones. The touble comes when trying to line up the pedals in an area that the bolts can fit through.

When fitting the pedals over the old ones, does this raise the hight of the pedal? If so, how different does it feel from standard?

Zak,

The Carbon ones I have are quite thin, but have a larger surface area. So, the main difference you feel is that it is a bigger target for your foot. Before starting to drill holes I just stick back plasticed them in to place to be sure they were going to be OK, and they didn't feel any higher.

There is plenty of clearance between the clutch and the brake, but the accelerator is to wide for the clearance. Am tempted to put it on after the MOT............

They are alloy with rubber grips and if anything I find them far safer than the standard pedal rubbers which go smooth and shiny with age.
