i have a 96 16vt with about 90k on it.runs alright, has new clutch, bodywork fine but it needs a bonnet(which i happen to have, brand new and unpainted) and some spraying,i also have the plus skirts and lips.do you think i should repair or would i be better off chopping up as i dont think there is too many over here in scrap yards ,in a bit of a dilema as i have put enough money into my other one and will never see that money again

If you've got all the bits to hand, might as well fix it up eh? Like you say not many in Ireland, so I wouldn't think you'd have a massive que of people for bits.
I've got a '96VT with 100k on it. Not had a real issue in getting spares..except the prices the dealers charge. Its not that hard to ship stuff from AA or Carlt or wherever.
Fiat wanted €750 for an exhaust back box! Got it from AA for £125 + vat & £50 shipping, in 4 days. Saved €435 on the dealer rates.
Keep it..absolutely possible to do in Ireland (except there are no 'roadside' windscreen repairers who have coupe glass in stock.)

i have been getting most of my stuff from steve or carl for years, but im getting really frustrated with the state of the motor ind (mainly mechanics who do half a job and expect full payment you know what i mean) and after doing all the work on the 95 16vt that i have i dont know if iwant to go down that road again.maybe im just in one of those coupe downers at the mo :s.and what do you mean about the windscreens can you not get one at the mo

Id say keep it seen as you have all the bits... as you know they are a rare enough car here as it is.. Havent had any issues with mine really, anything Ive needed has been readily available so cant complain bout parts!! although if you decide to chop it up let me know ..the front lips on my plus have seen better days!!!!
