Just went to a bodyshop to get the back of my car re-sprayed after somebody did a carpark bump and run. They cracked the paint on one of the back corners.

Was chating to the body shop guy about getting a couple of other bits and bobs done, and he was basicly pulling appart the paint work job that was on there. Hadn't noticed half the stuff until he pointed it out - its amazing how much more the trained eye picks up!

Anyway the long and short of it, I couldn't take it back with all the faults he'd noticed, because I know about them now. It's in for a full respray and I'm getting it back in about a week and a half. Can't wait \:\)

Well She's back. I think the guy has done a good job on the whole. No perfect, as some very minor overspray on the ruber on the back quarter windows, but I guess I didn't pay enough for a windows out job. And the pininfarina badges have not been put back on with the clip from the inside, but I can sort both of those problems. Overall I'm pleased.

Looks fantastic. I was wondering what a fresh Sprint Blue would look like.

I guess with windows out you would have been looking at another £1k?

Not sure Shippy. It will come off the rubber if I manipulate it a bit by the looks of things, so not that botherd. The back interour pannels are coming out soon for some sound deadening upgrades, so I'll sort the badges then as well.

I think the bloke had a lot of work, as the pannels were riddled with little door and shopping troly dings, and the side skirts were cracking quite badly...

hmm, wonder what they'd charge to spray it a different colour from what is was stock? my coupe's very badly battered, it's not pheasant and stone chippings damage on the front, Aston martin damage on the back and a large amount of rust on the drivers door... god knows how that happened. but if i was going to have her resprayed, i think i'd go for a different colour, something a bit more unique. i've always wanted a white car you know, very easy to maintain and to keep a good shine on it (lots of t-cut) *ponders*

I doubt it would be £1k more. If it was I'd be tempted to get my local Autoglass or similar to whip the glass out before hand and refit after the paint.

It cost me £30 to have quarter glass removed/refitted.

Car looks by the way ;\)
