I'm seriously thinking of selling my lovely red LE.

Is it just a passing phase, or should I go through with it?

The car has hardly been used since I had it.

Hellllllllp!!!!! \:\(

Depends what the replacement thought is.

I'd sell it or chop it up, but thats because of the colour.

Please sell it i can cross you off the list and get mine painted \:D

No No No No NO NO NO!

Do not under any circumstances.

And, yes, I've driven one. Good mate of mine had one for, oooh, a year. As a company car!

Sound good, grip good, fall-to-pieces good too. Build quality of a Morris Minor.

Please don't.

The later ones any better?

Anyways, after a very heated discussion with the missus, we cannot agree on the price I should put the LE up for. She says the only way she'll allow me to sell it is if I put it up at a price I cannot publish \:\( Basically it's too high IMO. So that's it, silly moment of unclarity over and brought back to Earth with a bump courtesy of the wife

This would have been the 4th car I have sold in the last 12 months, so can understand where she's coming from.

I still dig the Tuscan though.

Go for it John, this will be your 3rd coop now, you've had enouigh ;\) sell it on and go for the TVR. I momentarily considered, when I say momentarily I mean it, for about 60 seconds, but decided not to. Too much rain in the country to use one every day IMO. But each to their own, if I could afford 2 cars, I would love a TVR sunny day car and then something else.

You won't regret it if you do I am sure. There is a big TVR garage near me http://www.mole-valley.co.uk/ remember the day you test drove mine, it was out that way. They're pretty good, I have been to them for other cars previously \:\)

It's a mis-conception that the latter ones are better. For sure they're "better" but it's kinda relative. The electrics in them are something else.

Run them as a second car, maybe, just maybe. Like a lot of people, you sound like you need to get a TVR out of your system, which is fair enough.

4 cars in a year? Good work. Congrats.

Later ones are worse.

TVR club chairman has has 3 engines in his Sagaris at 33k. Mind you it sounded nice "trying" to follow it.

Just get one, ill be breaking them too so fine for an engine or two.

Yep, seems at 12000 mile service, TVR would change the engine, as this happened twice to someone i know. He sold the car, as it was the most unreliable load of junk he has had. Once got stuck inside the car for 3 hours because the locks and windows would not work!!!

Andy.

Well, after a big debate with the missus, I have pretty much decided to put the LE up for sale. I have a couple of things to attend to first.

Now in the for sale section \:\(

Jayzee have you driven a TVR yet? I know you didn't like the 'harsh' or at least compromised ride of your blue coupe. I've been in a Cerb 4.5 and it was the worst ride I can imagine. Totally unrealistic for a daily driver. Honestly, it made a lowered coupe feel like a Maybach \:o

Why not keep the LE as a now-cheap comfy daily hack whilst you try out other exotica. You can then rely on it when other stuff breaks down (Like I am doing at the mo whilst the Jag won't bloody start)

Yeah, have tried a few already and know what you mean. It's a different car though and the coop didn't suit a modified suspension IMO, far nicer with standard.

A TVR is well...a TVR and bang for buck, nothing can beat them. I also much prefer RWD

Bang for buck they can be beaten. Well, if you need a daily driver anyway. See Cappo for details ;\)

Obv if it's a dry weekend toy then that's another matter

If I did that it would be copyright theft and Mr Cappo wouldn't be pleased ;\)

I want something that's just out there and looking at the PH forums, yes owners do experience problems, but on the whole they are very happy with their cars.

I have always admired the Cerbera, but price and fragility put me off. Now they are reasonable to buy.

Yes, they are expensive to run, but not a ridiculous amount for supercar performance/grin factor.

Oh dear.....

Just get it (them) out of your system.

I'll give it one year's ownership, tops....

They are gorgeous looking and sounding cars, but I once spoke to an ex TVR mechanic, who now works on them independantly. Asked him why he doesn't drive one - he said they were too unreliable. \:\(

TVR stands For Trevor! enough said. Not my cup of tea, but a mighty big rush in a straight line. With no traction control of any thoughts, driving in the wet, can be lethal!!
