Good link, and the prices do seem rather good.
We had a group buy a few years ago with prices around £350 mark. I had them fitted (think they are Philips) and they have been working very well since. Massive improvement upon the originals.
Let me know if you get them fitted.

This is the kit that I bought ( direct from HIDS4U) and I paid £210, so this is a steal !
Well worth it, especially at that price.

I have an hids4u kit on my car. Vast improvement over standard. Although one of my ballast units failed recently, i emailed them and they said just send it back and it will be replaced. Posted it off on Monday 2nd class, and the new one arrived today. They are very nice people to deal with, i have found.

Just seen this myself but I have just bought myself some Osram Silverstar H1 Bulbs. I thought these were the items everyone recommends?
So what is the difference between the bulbs and this kit?

Im in 3 group buys at the minute so please no more . Upgrading the Coupes standard lights is a must for me but I cant see why I should pay this kind of money over a £20 set of bulbs?

Its sooo cheap, its insane.. Dont know how they make any profit on that.
Take my advice, it will be the 'best' money spent on the coop.
Its just such a good deal.

Graham you've bought (better than std) halogen bulbs. HID's are a full Xenon conversion like a lot of new cars come with (slight blue tinge). Much brighter.

HID bulbs are a gas discharge lamp unit (very high voltage ignites a gas in a sealed unit) instead of a coiled bit of wire that heats up and gives out light. They are way way brighter than any normal bulb. I remember Pauls attempts at a Samco hose group buy

and hence why they cost way way more than a standard (Osram/Philips) bulb..
Just park next to any new car with HID and compare the best ordinary bulb beam fade away....
