I've just picked up a second-hand Alpine HU and the stock input on the unit is smaller than the coupe jack plug.

Is there a particular size that I need to look out for when I go shopping tomorrow?

Well the Coupe has a standard aeriel plug so any car hi fi place shoudl sell one. Can't see any such thing on Google though, do you have a pic of the back of the apline unit?

Seems that there are two types of adapter and the one I needed was "standard aerial to ISO aerial connection" @ £4 from Halfords.

Also decided to spend £14 on an aerial booster "signal separation filter" that fits into aerial and powers from power antenna cable (blue on Alpine). MW can be crap, I will compare over the next couple of days.

This used Alpine unit is massively better than the Ripspeed CM2000 (MP3, USB, SD), which was a total waste of £130 when bought 6 weeks ago. Anyone want it for £50 +p&p they can have it.

Normally when I get home, I can't get a clear Radio 5 on MW ... but I can now!

Not sure if it will work for everyone, but it's worked for me. \:D

Does the booster also increase FM performance?
