Can anyone tell me how they fitted their skirts. Im not sure if i'll do it myself or tell the bodyshop what to do.
I remember talk about rivets on the old forum but can you just stick on with a bonding glue?
Also do you fit them and spray them, or spray them then fit them?
Has anyone else put that clear plastic sticky film over theirs to stop chipping? if so hows it look?

Just fitted mine myself (Joy Tuning Skirts). They needed a fair bit of tweeking with a Dremel but I just bonden them along the top edge and in the front and back arches, and put 3 pot rivets in each arch. Cant remember the name of the bonding but it was this thick black silicone and took days to come off my fingers. I used this same stuff to run a bead around all the gaps then it was sprayed after fitting.

All was fine until I noticed that the section of each skirt directly beneath the doors keeps coming unstuck where the fiber glass is thin and doesnt have the bead to help keep it in place. I don't know if its just because its been so damp and cold since I fitted them that it hasnt gone off properly, or that the stuff I used wasnt adheasive enough, or (and t his is my favorite) when driving at speed air spirals up inside the back of the skirt due to the small gap that runs it legth underneath and pushes through the weakes part, ie in the middle beheathe the doors.

Anyone got an opinion on this and some advice as to what can be done abou this??

Thanks.

So you put the rivets at the ends in the wheel arches and not into the skirt from the back of the sill?
If anyone could shed some light on what the bonding stuff is called and if i can get it from Homebase etc that would be good
Has anyone bought the LE skirts from mauriusz and had those fettling problems as above with the joy skirts??

sikaflex is the stuff you need. goto your local body shop and they should be able to sort you out some.

but be warned if you mess up that stuff's a pain in the back side to remove.

The ones i have could not be bonded so they were rivited under the kick plate, i then used epoxy resin with a 15 min dry time to set the lifted parts.
I also then riveted the rear arch but kept the front clear so no unsightly rivets.

They rivet underneath, however I added another rivet into the front wheel arch just to be sure they dont budge.

you guyz should speak to the body shop that did my sisters side skirts and front bumper "LE" lips (it looks like it wouldn't have hurt) he hee

I suppose they look ok (until you get a bit closer) but as she wants them to be perfect (guess another place) OSC in leatherhead will sort this out for her (when she takes it there for some touch up work . LOL

Ok ive got the LE skirts now and a day of work to mess around fitting them.
From what i can gather its Sikaflex bonding along the top edge (do i just smear this down this sills and press?)
Then rivets along the bottom (is this drilling through the skirt and putting one through each of the tabs? And what bit under the car do i screw into?)
Plus what do these rivets look like?
Also ive offered them up to the car and it looks like i have to either cut some of the rubber mudflap in the rear arch, or trim some of the skirt...which one is it?

Anyone got any pics of the underside with these fitted as im really paranoid im going to mess it up
Any fisher price explanation would be

Cheers Bug one, makes a bit more sense! Is that the same as the one you used?
Did you do some trimming as jamesyboy has previously said? I ask because then ends of the skirts that curve into the wheel arches do look big.

I got the LE sideskirts from joy tuning, the fittings seems good!

But can´t i just use the sikaflex glue?

No screws are in need i think?
