I've just won these on the Bay to replace my standard 8 year old front speakers. I think I've done pretty well to get them for that price. Despite me loving music I don't know much about sound equipment.

Basically, all you ICE gods, what do you think?

Your names are in green........you are both gods <bows down>

I know nuffin' but I'd say they are a bargain too.

Factor in 20 quid for new door panels off carlt after you fccuk em up, 30 quid for someone else to fit them for you, 150 quid for a new head unit as you don't think yours is up to is anymore after having them fitted and it all becomes relative

Thanks guys, for £20 I think I've done alright. They can't be any worse than the farting standard ones . I just need to find the guide for fitting them now.........

Fitting front speakers is the easiest job in the world! Just prise off the mesh cover and unscrew the old ones. The rears are a bit more involved but still easy. Did all this last week.

Yeah, I've been looking for a new head unit too. I'm after another Clarion so I can keep my cd changer, just something a bit fresher and less fiddly. Not finding too many bargains on this front though.

Don't count on the newer clarions being able to work with the existing CD changer You need to buy one of these. And they retail at about £50 - £100

Personally I would find a head unit you like (Not just Clarion) and then worry about CD changers. If you buy a HU that plays MP3 cds etc then you may not need a changer anyway.

How about something with integrated Bluetooth so you also get a unit that does hands free for you phone. Or pinin has one of those flash JVC units that plays DVDs. You can fit 20 plus CDs on a DVD easy

Hmmm, price looks fine - although they are coax's not components, so would be better suited to the rear of a coupe.

If you are up to installing them, it's better to have components up front (i.e. seperate tweeter and woofer) although you can go for a coax if you want to. The soundstage may be a bit too low with just coax's up front though. See my guide on installing tweeters in the standard locations, it's in the ICE section (must make it sticky).

Sideways a LOT
