It's the big clash between the Fiat Coupe and Alfa GTV with the cars appearing on the front cover. Good to see a 16v being featured as well as a 20VT LE. Balanced article with no winner and summarising that they're all distinctive classics each offering different levels of driver enjoyment smile

I drove Phils 16v that day, definatly easier to live with everyday, nice smooth progressive power. The GTVs are super nice inside, like sitting in a cockpit.

When I was first considering buying a fiat coupe
The gtv was very much the other horse in the race

In my opinion the coupe looks better outside while gtv probally wins for inside

I had both the GTV V6 Lusso and Coupe together for many years (until a few years ago). The GTV was properly sorted with the Q2, smf, uprated bushes etc it handled far better than the Coupe, had a far nicer and more luxurious interior than the Fiat and I felt a much better build quality and premium product, together with the legendary V6 Busso. Compromised on interior and boot space not that that was a major issue. It was in fantastic condition with the factory spoiler/s kit; outed it as I wanted something else and had run out of space. The Coupe is more practical as an everyday performance car, I love the Sprint Blue and the 20v turbo is more exhilarating to drive.

Hard to disagree with any of the above, I really liked my GTV V6, it felt better inside, slightly 'classier' and better put together, handedly better too, the spoiler really pushed it down at speed (I'm told...) It wasn't so good with flooding as the bow wave from a 4x4 finished it off whereas the coop floats admirally through. The coupe was more practical, indeed the GTV was the only car I've had (except maybe the Bond bug) that makes the coop seem sensible. Boot, rear seats, visibility and much better MPG.
I haven't had a 20vt, but did have the 16vt which as everyone knows is a far superior model!
