In July I became the proud owner of a broom yellow 20VT. Unfortunately I do not own a garage and so I have to leave it in the road overnight. Some "kind" person tried to break the lock on the boot, so that the next time I put a key in it, in the dark at a camping site, the whole barrel got stuck on the key as I pulled it out, and it then slid off the key in the grass somewhere, and I lost it. I can still access the boot via the catch inside the car, but there is now an ugly looking hole in the boot where the lock barrel used to be. Is it possible to obtain from somewhere, a neat rubber bung to put in this hole, or, even better, are the locks available to buy anywhere? Coop also appears to have a slight oil leak as I am having to top it up periodically, and I think the power steering pump might be on the way out, because the power steering is noisy even though the power steering fluid has been topped up. This ran to almost dry before I realised. It is only noisy on full lock. I used to own a red VIS and I hope this one is still alive - she went to Liverpool. I thought I had found a Coupe enthusiast to look after my 20VT here in West Berkshire. He said he loved these cars and he had one which he modified to 700 bhp, with £25,000 of modifications, then he sold it for £25,000. As he described these modifications I began to feel a little queasy as I am a bit of a purist who likes a Coop to be as Nature intended! I was going to ask him to do an oil change as a prelude to making him my mechanic man, when he tried to sell me a new oil pump which I knew the car did not need. Whodathunkit, a mechanic man who thinks a lady knows naff all about the internal combustion engine! So I am still looking for someone to trust with my beautiful Coop, which has been such a joy to drive - it feels like coming home, after making the terrible mistake, of buying a Punto 1.4 turbo which was like being demoted to a donkey after loving a racehorse! Hope to come to a meet up! All the best Annie

That's bad luck Annie for your recent purchase I don't know how far away the camping-site is but your boot lock is likely still where it fell off; this would be far the cleanest and cheapest solution to the hole-in-the-boot-lid issue. Unless it's 200 miles away... Perhaps someone on here in your neck of the woods will recommend a trusted place to take your coop.

Subject: Fiat Coupe 20VT Message: My Fiat Coupe needs an oil and oil filter change, and attention to the power steering pump. If possible I would like to wait while you do the work, because I live in Berkshire. Many thanks. Annie I did reply to you but didn't receive a reply.
