Joe and I looked into this some years ago, and concluded that the cost of the conversion would be significantly more than the most expensive coupes out there. We concluded it simply wasn't worth it.
Though if the price of the batteries ever falls to a sane level... as an example, an electric plane reviewed here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqF55MjU9jc pointed out a cost of around a Euro an hour to fly, with 70kWh of new battery required every 500 hours - for twenty-two thousand euros. Giving a cost of about 45 euros an hour
(Assuming that's for both the batteries on the plane.)
That's about four or five times what the French Thing[tm] or the coupe costs. Though of course 500 hours at an average of around 40mph (taken over several years when I was commuting an hour a day each way) is still 20,000 miles. Given that many of us now use the coupe less than 3,000 miles a year, hmm, six or seven years?
