Hi! I've recently purchased a green metallic 1997 20 V Turbo. It was parked in a barn some time between 2013-2015, and was last started in 2016. The car was well taken care of and working as it should when parked. The mileage is 117.555km = 73k miles. The car was owned by the bloke I got it form for 20 years.
SittingThe engine has been rebuilt, at one stage, due to a blown head gasked caused by overheating after a coolant leak. The bonnet had a respray at one point, other than that, it is completely original.
before storageSitting i a barn in Norway has consequences. It gets properly cold in the winter, and if the temperature suddely rises, condensation will form. This causes any bare metal surface to corrode. It is most noticable on nuts and bols, but on the aluminium parts on the engine as well. I've seen it on other cars stored dry, but temperature exposed.
corrosionThe car has some interesting options: linen leather interior, and some original interior accessories fitted, such as fake wood and aluminium trim.
InteriorMy plans are to go over everything that needs doing after sitting so long, clean up paint and interior, and do some subtle opgrades: strut brace, poly bushings up front, a hybrid turbo and a gtech chip along with a stainless exhaust.
