Can't seem to find my original thread, so here's another.. Finally heading down to Joes to pick up my Sprinty. A tad excited to say the least. Freshly MOT yesterday, so today went on line & gutted will not let me unsorn... That sickening feeling, you know the one? Over to the next village Post Office, no problem, phew!!! So everything legal. Fly down to Bristol pick my Coop up & the long drive home.. Erm, I may chat about this at Carlisle...

Great news Jimboy! Have a great trip back home. There's an outside chance of a bottle hidden in the coupe for you but that was 2017 mate!

That's me home, 9hrs, two stops for fuel & another stop to stretch my legs & a wee doss, eyes were beginning to get a bit nippy, rubbed my face with a wet wipe & all good again, off to bed now. That's amazing Jim, greatly relieved you made it back in one piece. Think I would have taken the "soft" option and stayed over somewhere - having said that I remember bringing mine back from Upton last year and feeling remarkably fresh afterwards! One thing in your favour perhaps that traffic would be light but hopefully your refurbed headlights helped pierce the gloom a lot better Put up a couple of pics when you wake up

Well Simon, it's like learning to drive again, more so in a car that's a wee bit faster than my daily The drive took a bit out of me, what with my hip aching & when I got out of my car at my house, I felt sick & tired but I was taking my pills & no food, I'm now bang on 13 stone & I'm still not that hungry. All in all I'm smiling like an idiot, the adrenaline kept me going, that's fore sure.

I must admit to being concerned Jim, especially "post-op". Although it may have been a few months since your own spat, having had a few similar occurrences I found that recovery has taken its time, perhaps up to half a year, even 18 months after my ticker issue. Not to take away from your stoicism, still awesome you did all that in a one-er Driving the coop again must be equal to at least one dose of feel-better tablets

Believe it or not Simon, if it wasn't for the hip & the pills & I'd been my usual self, honestly it would have been a doodle I think that some people see me as a bit vulnerable at times, but behind the humor & blether I'm quite the survivor Due to my childhood I'm a bit selfish & keep something back for myself. Here's to our next meet up or trip.... .....

Well, the Coop exhaust fumes have finally settled down up here, & I think it's time for a few thank yous. I have to firstly thank Joe for his excellent work on my sprinty, it's practically a new car straight out of the show room. I have to thank my lovely wife equally as she worked two more years full time to pay for it, she has only recently went on to a three day week, I love her so much for that. A big thanks to Simon for help as well, he gave me a heads up of a trustworthy driver/trailer who took my sprinty down to Joes.Simon gave me much encouragement when I wasn't sure about things & other information. Neil/Barnacle I believe was involved as well with his technical expertise, thanks. This sounds like an acceptance speech.. I was almost emotional when I first clapped my eyes on my car at night in Joes garage with the lights shining down on the paintwork, wow I thought. Almost done, I have to thank everyone else who took an interest in my adventure regarding my Coop on here. It was Teresa that told me that the forum is like your family, I believe her. Oh, have to thank Joes son Jacob, he picked me up from Bristol Airport & on to the garage, I blethered quite a lot on the way there funnily enough Nice young man, very intelligent. Thanks you one & all. Have a lovely Christmas & new year.

It was Teresa that told me that the forum is like your family, I believe her. It is We all look after each other, some more than others and we all try to help each other out, regardless of whatever the problem is I've been very thankful over the years, for the friends I have met on here and know I can speak about anything, whether Coupe related or not I'm glad you have your Coupe back Jim and glad you have a lovely, understanding wife too

My garage is behind a row of houses off the beaten track and I was pottering in my garage, Coop carefully parked out side. Heard some beeping and here is an oil lorry reversing to deliver heating fuel to one of the houses. Bags of room for him to manoeuvre usually, but he seemed to be heading for my Coop Stop, whoa, I was convinced he was going to total my car. He jumped out and said he saw my car, he also said he had a long hose. (Now,now) Kind of lost the plot but we soon saw the funny side of the mad shouty man. Turns out a young Polish chap and a car enthusiast. Had a long chat about cars and particularly the Coop. Dead impressed, first Coop he has come across. After he left, I did have a bit of a moment, whew!!! All good now....
