My Coupe went on SORN in Feb 2014, and since then has done, well, not much. Its taken up some space, and offered a home to various spiders. I moved it around now and again, and generally made sure it continued to work, but I knew the Turbo was leaking oil, so it wasn't about to pass an MoT.

Somehow, since the summer, I've found the motivation to actually do something about it though! A spare Turbo I had (also with knackered oil seals...) was sent for refurb and fitted. Other than that, I did a general service and checked for horrors - and found none. I didn't even find that much rust. You know what, this thing might still pass an MoT.

So on Friday it went for a test. Aaaaand...... Failed.

But it only failed on some corroded brake lines. I'm sorry - a 20 year old Fiat that's been off the road 3 1/2 years, and all its failed on is some brake lines? Bargain! And an MoT tester telling me that its a sound car - it will have one advisory for some slightly grotty connectors on a flexible hose for one brake. I'll happily settle for that!

So my 20vt will ride again. Should have it back on Thursday. :-)
