We once had a spate of this kind of thing in our road when I lived in Worcester. Wing mirrors being smashed off.
It turned out to be some crazy old guy (pensioner age) living down the road. Don't assume it's young guys....

Sorry to hear that Annie. Had a recent spate of that on my coupe even though parked in a secure gated area. I wanted to know who was targeting me and why so I installed a motion sensor camera (after due diligence re botnets).
The scratches were in the main being caused by some young kids who were throwing rocks/stones from the opposite side of the road into the gated area, some of these were hitting cars including mine and skidding along the paint- must have been occurring for a while as there were between 70-100 stones in the garage guttering behind where the car was parked. Parents visited and it transpires there was nothing malicious- it was just a game they played to see who could throw the furthest!
Also found a local window cleaner had been accessing rear gardens via the gated area using his ladder- which hit the roof of my other vehicle when he lost his balance while standing on my wall.
While the damage was done the camera did at least give me peace of mind that it wasn't a former 'client' with a grudge

I'm in Newbury so not exactly a high crime hot spot. The same person (we think) also gobs on windscreens. Did they even manage to catch swampy?
