My first coupe 20 vt was 6 years ago...a guy had stripped interior and it had been painted matte black( with a paint brush). I bought it replaced the interior and made tidy best as I could but was a bit to much for me as I was young and inexperienced and sold it on. 6 years ago. I received a letter from dvla last week saying the car was still registered to me and had no tax and wasn't sorn...now I did all the necessary at the time paperwork wise and on checking the car hasn't been taxed or moted since I owned it 6 years ago. The plate is r836 bhk, originally green..anyone know it or can help me?..dvla are asking me to provide proof date of sale and new owners address and name from 6 years ago!?
You can call them on this number to sort over the phone- 0300 790 6802. Alternatively if you go to the GOV.UK website and follow the prompts it will get you through to the section where you can respond via email.
Doris the 1998 Portofino Blue 20V and Zoe the 1999 Alfa Romeo 916 Spider Bog standard needn't be boring...
I had this same situation a couple of years ago. I contacted DVLA by phone and was asked to put in writing a declaration that I had sold the vehicle and estimate when it was.
I then received a confirmation back to say I was no longer the RK.
Be quick though, The DVLA have become very organised now in their no insurance/no SORN fine department.
I've got a bit of a conversation going over email and that is what they have just requested me to do...so I've emailed the details but will also follow up with a written letter confirming. Thank you everyone for reading and comments
