Help...... I'm booked in on Saturday at my local custom exhaust place and he wants to sit down with me and discuss what I want and I have not got a clue, all I really want is a nice sound but not to loud with an awful motorway drone. It still has a cat at the minute until a flange is welded on I can't get my mate to reproduce the replacement pipe, what size pipes and do I have a silencer. Help please, i don't want to be disappointed

I bought and fitted one of these about 8 years ago. It's still on the car and going strong. Quiet when cruising, but sounds lovely and deep when you floor the pedal, without being too chavtastic.

Standard pipe is 57mm(2.25") diameter with 2 silencers after the cat , if your going to run a decat then I would go for a 64mm(2.5") diameter pipe with a single silencer at the rear .

Nismo, I think your sizes are a bit off wink

250mm is a 10" pipe - might be a bit loud....

2,25" original, isn't it? Maybe 2,5" with a single silencer, you mean?

Would it sound terrible without a silencer?

Yes, and loud enough to make driving it very unpleasant

When I had my 3" system built, I had a single rear silencer - it sounded epic on full chat, but it was ridiculously boomy and set off car alarms at 100ft

I had an enormous centre silencer added, and its still pretty loud, but in a much softer way

The Blueflame cat back I have on has a single rear silencer, and I have a Milltek race cat, not too noisy at all, you need at least 1 silencer but don't need 2

The cat will be taking the edge off the sound, which is why you're getting away with a single silencer. If it was de-catted, one silencer wouldn't be enough, unless you like it loud.

agree with you Nigel , I have a 3" exhaust from turbo back , no cat and a single silencer and its getting to that point to fit another silencer .

I had mine done at Motormech and i think its fairly standard two silencers i believe, plus the cat and i think it was 2.5" but i may be wrong it could be 2.25"

Sounds nice and is ok driving around loud enough but not too loud still makes very good performance with the spec i have!

The last thing you want is a boomy loud exhaust, especially if you use it a lot! unless of course that is your thing laugh
