My X1 had its MoT recently and I was recommended to take it to a tracking specialist in the Forest of Dean (who have brand new expensive kit) to check out the alignment of the tracking due to excessive wear on the inside rears of my tyres.
Whilst I am sure the car is on its original tyres and from most viewing angles they have plenty of tread left and indeed it still passed the Mot.

1 hour of waiting later, the outcome is the alignment is definitely out but the garage concerned could not fully adjust to factory spec because apparently the track rod ends have seized!?!? grr
The car is 3.5 years old has only done 25k (12k by me)so I am a bit surprised????
The very recent BMW service certainly did not pick up tracking being out, but with a 5 year service plan did they even look? They quoted me for some rear tyres though!!! rolleyes
I do not think this is covered by the remaining warranty, but it does not appear to be a good ad for BMW?

I hate to think what the local BM dealer would charge to rectify?

Have they got everything central before they try adjusting and measuring? I once got told the same about an e39 that had new track rod ends. The monkeys had wound it fully bottomed on one side and were using heat to try and go further.

I would not be surprised at all!
I am going to take it to someone who will actually talk to me about what the issue is and what our options are???
