Hello, Any help appreciated. My battery had run dead as car garaged. I jumped it and the alarm went off and wouldn't stop. Apparently it's a scorpion alarm. The fob wasn't working so I've just been using the key. I've got the round key thing and have looked for its socket in the internal place but to no avail. I've looked under the bonnet but can't even find the alarm! It's still beeping but when I follow the beep it seems to come from the other side . I wanted to take the car for a spin but not with the alarm going. It's a 2.0 20v R reg if that helps. Thanks

On my very early P reg 20vt the Scorpion alarm siren is mounted just behind the nearside front fog/side/indicator light unit, it may be hidden under the rubbery "sheet" that's in there. The Scorpion alarms came with a key to turn the siren off, also the wiring to/from the alarm ends in a 4 way connector which you could pull apart if you can find it, but the siren will still be using its own batteries for power until they die after a few hours.

Thanks for the reply. My coupe is garaged elsewhere so I will try again tomorrow. I thought I'd found the alarm stop bit once before as my dad had the same problem (it was his car) unfortunately he's forgotten how to do it too!

That happens to me. Battery ran flat. When I charged up battery and reconnected to the terminals, after about 10 seconds the alarm went off! The solution is to reconnect the battery then, with the button on the key fob, turn off the alarm immediately. (The red alarm light should go out on your dash). The alarm will/should then turn off before the siren goes off. Works for me

Try popping a new battery in the fob.

They usually put the key socket on the top (underside ) of the glovebox I think +1 for this kill switch location. Open the glovebox, and look at the top edge (under the passenger air bag) it has a the small barrel key type lock for which you should have a key for somewhere. this is for the Meta Systems M99 alarm fitted in the wing. had the same noiseyness when my battery went flat. fixed by deactivating alarm on the fob as mentioned above, but for that your fob needs to be working
