Schedule :

- remove the passenger door card to check the moisture barrier and fix it if needed.
- check the bulbs behind the instrument panel because some are not working ; a bit worried about the Pininfarina badge on the dash...
- if time, also fix the driver's door barrier, check the brakes, etc...

Quick summary of the reality :

- remove the Pininfarina badge in 2 mins without any problem
- remove some screws from the passenger door card, discover that some are missing (classic, happens every time I work on the car, sometimes the missing ones have been replaced with unadapted ones)
- try to remove the door handle, but find out that one of the numerous previous owners decided to replace one of the screws with a rivet
- fight against the wind
- spend 30+ min to remove one handle with a drill, a hammer, ... instead of 5 min for the whole door card
- fight against the wind, get irritated
- find out there is no moisture sheet anymore
- cry
- look for some replacement screws, in vain
- fight against the wind, endure the noise of the driver's door that needs some lubricant
- remove the dash strip easily, undo the bolts of the instrument panel
- try to remove all the plugs behind instrument panel, no space around there, add some scratches to the panel glass...
- remove some bulbs with difficulty, discover they are OK
- cry again

So, like everytime, almost no progress, and new problems to add to the "to do list". Great afternoon.

Shocking ! grr

But you have at least discovered what needs doing - better then being in the dark, and next time progress will seem better....

Now that's a "glass half-full" view !

I knew the moisture sheet wasn't intact.

I already dismantled the driver's door few months ago and noticed a few palstic sheets were missing or not glued anymore, but I only tried to fixed the handle at this time.
I assumed it was the same for the passenger's door because I replaced the puddle lamp this summer and it already starts to corrode (that's why I now fix the sheets ; when I bought the car there were only the plastic parts left for the passenger light laugh while the driver's one only needed cleaning, reconnecting and a new lamp).

It should also stop the moisture on the windscreen when the car stay parked for a while...

Even if the progress is non existant today, it's enriching.

The work on the moisture barrier should be finished now, I tried to replicate the driver's barrier on the passenger's door, took some time but should be sufficient.

To replace the rivet I used a bolt, that was a hard time to put it in place grr
And found out that the missing screw on the bottom of the door was used for the plastic behind the opening handle, so I fitted it where it should be, now I have to find a screw to install on the plastic behind the handle...

And discovered new dents on both doors, great.

It's a job well worth doing to stop your carpets soaking every time it rains. Hope you made sure the drain holes in the door were clear while you were in there smile

Yep.
Even without barrier, there was no water ingress luckily.

Ed's right-

I've spent tons of time looking at the 'little things'

Because it's the little things that will end the car if they go un-noticed. This time of year is always a challenge for working outside though.

Maybe try and break down the list into little tasks and roll forwards slowly...

Well done though- I had the feeling that the door handle bolts were tri-lobar, and not just conventional M6, which makes them a tough thing to re thread.
But I would have to defer to Ed's memory of it, as I was acting under supervision, on the only time that I have seen them.
